Maru now has the same number of T20i half centuries as Wes. Took a look at Wes' stats and realized he scored 4 of his 7 half centuries in his first 13 games. He only has 1 half century in 3 years. Where did it all go wrong? He has been playing for 5 years now. Maybe Bennett has spoiled us but I still can't believe Wes failed to kick on.
He only has 4 centuries at domestic level too which is really concerning (another favourite Madande only has 2, Munyonga has 3). To put that into context a guy like Ali Hamid who is nowhere near the selection radar but is the same age also has 4 FC centuries, just like Wes. Makes you really wonder how good these guys are if they can't dominate our domestic scene. Naqvi has 12.....or maybe our local cricket isn't as easy as people think.

Probably what happens when you get smoke blown up your ass since you are 15. 'National treasure' and shit.
ZC are so desperate for black batsmen that when they run into one with talent, they give the royalty treatment and the player then loses the hunger to improve. Just my two cents, but my logic is this has literally happened to EVERY talented black batsmen we have ever had, without exception.
