Cremer being dropped was a strange one but I think I saw a stat during the game which showed that India had only lost 1 wicket to a leg spinner the whole tournament. Maphosa had a nightmare in the end.

Still a lot to learn. These are the kind of games that need to be played to improve. I think most of these guys will be available for selection for the next world cup besides BT and Cremer. Raza has another one in him. It gives me some hope. Gone are the days when we used to be so worried what would happen wihout the big 3.

He went to uni overseas and isn’t pursuing professional cricket.

Musekiwa has taken the third highest number of catches in the tournament with nearly twice as many as our next guy on the list

Whether he should be selected or not is a fair question. It’s not fair to make out he’s been dropping everything though.

Him dropping three or four catches across a couple of games isn’t the reason we’ve conceded 510 runs in those couple of games. That 254 vs WI and 256 vs India are like moderately competitive ODI scores on a tricky deck.

It's international cricket. You can't be dropping 3 catches in 2 matches. It's the old adage, catches win matches.

His drop against West Indies cost us 74 runs. Against India it cost us 12 runs. To say he the reason we conceded 510 is not what we are saying. But rather, if you are going to be selected because everyone lauds your fielding, you should not be dropping catches that regularly.

Too many excuses for a selected batter who has played 40 plus International games with an average of 16.

These are not standards and its no wonder other teams are overtaking us all the time.

You would think David Bennett could easily walk into the Rangers team considering their younger brother plays for them. Even if he's only interested in playing socially, it would be interesting to see where hes at considering hes 22

And Raza can play and maybe should play as long as he is fit but dont expect any changes if he is captain. This squad definitely had his backing and they fired.. even in super 8 if not for those dropped catches but either way 200 was always on the cards in both games for the opposition and they reached 250+. Problem is not the squad but atleast 5 passengers

Maposa as a seam bowling all rounder doesnt make sense in subcontinent with Evans already in the squad. Other than that, Maposa will get better, he is 22 atm.. but for everything to fall in place, he needs to go back to domestic first. Wellington needs to walk away or retire. Not even 50 wickets in 75+ t20i, if naqvi is as shit as you think, he still definitely wont be same as Masakadza plus with him at 7, the batting firepower increases. Myers should stay in the squad since he can chalk it out infront of good bowlers and up the rate when needed. Same goes for marumani but madande needs to be dropped if he is not in the playing XI. Madande is just clinging to his spot because he is a backup WK.

Anyways, same squad with 5 different players for next t20 world cup since Zim will play in that edition, raza to captain but dont expect Zim to go beyond super 8. That can only happen if everything is done on merit and that is not going to happen with Raza as captain. As much as anybody tries to hide it, maposa musekiwa munyonga were not up to the mark against Afghanistan, SL or Pak(Tri Series 2025). These 3 didnt deserve the go ahead for this world cup and it proved to be a turning point since Musekiwa is the one with 3 dropped catches atm. Last game was understandable since they were playing in india for the first time , that too under lights but not today.

I cant find anyone with better t20i stats in domestic than naqvi atm so guess Zim will have to call him up sooner than later if he is eligible and wants to play for the chevrons despite him being a bit out of touch or being shit if that is how you wanna put it.

I think the only way to get Zc selectors is to boo certain players like Welly or Museliwa..
