Looking Ahead to 2027 ODI World Cup

Post by Kriterion_BD »

With a massively successful T20 WC campaign under their belt, its time for ZIM to look forward and plan for the [real] World Cup in about 18 months time.

My prediction is that Taylor, Ervine, and Raza will all make the squad, barring any uncontrollable issue (ie injuries).

Marumani raza bennett curran ngarava muzarabani evans are the only ones who will definitely feature

Burl didnt get selected for odis in 2025, he has to make a comeback and with Ngarava as captain, its 50 50

Taylor ervine 41 age by then so the only way they can be in the squad is if they keep on performing n stay fit.

Cremer didnt make a comeback in odis yet

Wellington has shown improvements are impossible for him.

Myers & Maposa need to stack up runs to be in consideration cuz maposa can only feature if he gets runs under his belt since Evans is 3rd seamer(who bats ok btw)

Naqvi got eligibility issues

Williams rehab

Nick welch hasnt even made his debut in odi format

J campbell can feature but lord munyonga or lord musekiwa will take that spot.

Clive or Tsiga will be backup WK to marumani and taylor if one is injured. If both taylor n marumani make it, clive might not even be picked

Sean Williams will definitely make a comeback. If he can get his sh*t together, he is our best ODI batsman.

I said Sean will comeback and everyon said I was nuts but everyone's flipped.
Evans is no sure thing since it's been years he's played an ODI but he should.

Eve and Bt must be there. Even as backup

If BT is not picked due to fitness or injury or form or whatever

He can be batting coach or head coach, could be a great move

BT doesn't have the fitness for 20 overs, let alone 50!
