Pommie - I dont think he tries too hard he is easy on the ear if there is such a term
Ali - Really smooth and quick on his feet and uses wealth of knowledge well hugely lively but retaining enough focus and degree of seriousness
Psych - Could go far if he takes this seriously but should loosen up a bit...I do like his commentry
Dean - brings a new dimension to commentry and his memory is impaccable. Im a huge fan.
Neil - Jovial and fun but I dont know if its his lack of seriousness that makes him feel too T20 to me...nice bloke though
Dont know who he is but heard him first time yesterday...Stanley Chi...something (no offence)....I think he is part of the jrn team coaching setup...very easy to listen to and knowledgeable....
SA:
Mike Hayesmam he like Ali is both entertaining and knowledgeable and understands its an artform
Manners if he counted as Zim would be top.
Wessels is dry but extremely knowledgeable...
Dont think Rhino (Fredricks) is terrible nor spectacular...
Jackers (Jackman) is fun...
Ackerman is also good and fair..
Barry Richards is conceited but very knowledgeable...
Mluleki Tsabo (largely radio and SABC3)
Int...
Bumble (Lloyd),Healy,Harvey,Boycott (for the OTT comments), Sir Biffy, snobby Nasser Hussain, Michael Holding, vast knowledge,Alec Stewart, Gower, the impaccable and ever proper Ian Bishop and last but definitely not least the one and only sir Ritchie topping the list. Sanjay is one of very few Asian comms I can stand...
1. Mawoyo 2. Duffin 3. Sibanda 4. Taylor 5. Masakadza 6. Williams 7. Chakabva 8. Creamer 9. Jarvis 10. Rainsford 11. Mpofu

Pommie, Dean and Johnson. But surely in my ear Pommie is the best.
Re: You're favorite Zimbabwe Commentator
Pommies got the best strongest sounding voice but knowledgewise he isn't that good at all. Kind of negative too..
As for the rest, southern Africa has a problem, NONE of their accents are particularly easy on the ear. Some sound quite irritating.
Asia has the same problem x 10.
You'll find the best sounding commentators come from the UK, AUS, and the carribean. I think if u look at the most popular worldwide that is also reflected.

Dean du Plessis for me, followed by Andy Pycroft (his deep insights were very useful when he used to be in the commenatary box. Hope he gets back there once the ICC Ref stint is over).
Pommie is always nice to hear, but sometimes goes overboard, may be the influence of IPL.
Among others across the world, Mike Haysman's is what I'd listen to.

I used to love Pommie, but that love has somewhat cooled off, especially after his IPL stint. Of the commentators that do Zim matches I do like Manners who forms a nice combo with Dean DuPlessis.CrimsonAvenger wrote: Pommie is always nice to hear, but sometimes goes overboard, may be the influence of IPL.
Internationally, top of the list for me: Michael Holding, Tony Cozier, Bumble, Nasser is growing on me (never thought there was much humour there) and - on select occasions - Sir Geoffrey and Henry Blofeld.

true, he has limitations: "shot! very good shot!" is about as insightful as he gets about batting. I still have a soft spot though and he knows bowling ... by far the easiest Zimbo on the ear imoforeignfield wrote:I used to love Pommie, but that love has somewhat cooled off, especially after his IPL stint. .

Re: You're favorite Zimbabwe Commentator
I have to say I have almost no patience for commentators at all and will watch a LOT of cricket on mute. Richie Benaud and Pommie have been two who i do listen to. but that is outside of Zim and in International games. This tourny they have been impartial and quite nice to listen to - without exception. I have somehow been spared AC so far though - thankfully
