As it stands, their records against Test nations (excluding Bangladesh) are quite comparable. Taylor's average is 34.37 while Flower's is 33.31.

Taylor sure has picked up the pace in 50 over the last 2-3 years. I remember the tour of the WI in 2010, he wasn't even close to averaging 30, but now I have to say a comparison with A Flower in 50 over cricket isn't a bad one.

i think taylor will be a better batsman than flower if he continues at this pace. hw just needs good batters around him.

Taylor does need good batsmen around him. Andy Flower didn't have or need good players around him for most of his career. Andy Flower is clearly the better player, although Taylor is very good also.

I dont think you can compare them because Flower played against all teams, India, Aus, Eng, NZ, Sri Lanka etc etc in ODIs and Tests.

Brendan has played against Bangladesh mostly and hasnt been able to test himself against these big teams on a regular basis apart from the odd T20 or World cup game.

When Taylor starts scoring centuries in the subcontinent on turning wickets while the rest of the side is collapsing then maybe we can start talk about comparing him to Andy Flower.

I don't think people realise just how special Andy Flower was. He is a once in a generation type of player for a national like Zimbabwe which has a very small player base. Zimbabwe may not produce such a player again in our lifetimes.
