changes for crucial west indies match
chakabva out his slow scoring rate increases pressure fr the middle order chibhabha in he can bat n shld bowl atleast 4 overs . mupariwa in for panyangara to bowl in the death overs . taylor needs to leave the sweep shot like williams did
Re: changes for crucial west indies match
I would rather Mupariwa in for Chigumbura. He is not contributing much to team at the moment. Chibhabha having knee problems so may have to stick with Chakabva.

What's wrong with you, drop Chakabva, ludicrous idea! Mupariwa's promising but not good enough to come in for the crunch game.CrimsonAvenger wrote:Drop Chakabva, play Mupariwa.

Need to keep the right batsman theme going, worked well in the last game. Would consider Mupariwa for Panyangara though.CrimsonGumper wrote:What's wrong with you, drop Chakabva, ludicrous idea! Mupariwa for Kamungozi.
I dont mind Chakabva if he can up his scoring rate, but in all honesty, if Chibhabha is fit, he should probably be selected. He has the better ODI form.

Re: changes for crucial west indies match
if chibhabha isnt available matsikenyeri would be a better option he bowls spin as well .
Re: changes for crucial west indies match
If Chibhabha is fit he returns to open for Regis if not we have a decision do they stick with Regis or give Matsi a go ? I wouldn't open with Matsi I'd push Hami and BRMT up one spot and bat Stuey @4 or even push Mire to 3 and see how he goes ?? Craig Ervine also has had some success batting @3 for the Tuskers .....
Or we could bring in Mupariwa for Regis and play the extra bowler the problem with that is we then have 4 No. 11 batsman in our tail ......
Mupariwa should play either way either come in for Panga or even Kamungozi, Williams can owl the 10 overs spin with some from Raza who will be suited more to the bigger grounds in Aus than NZ ......
Raza
Chamu
Hami
BRMT
Willy
Ervine
Mire
Chigs
Mupairwa
Chatara
Kamungozi
For me that's the side I would go with unless Chamu isn't fit ......
Also more overs from Hami please ......

Re: changes for crucial west indies match
Bring in Chibhabha for Chakabva, but otherwise unchanged.
Our bowling attack is a concern, because it's not hard to imagine WI just smoking our guys out the ground. But there's no other options - Mupariwa isn't going to put the fear of God into guys like Gayle and Samuels. Doesn't matter whether we have Panyangara (in current form)/Kamungozi/Utseya/Mupariwa/Chigumbura - they are all much of a muchness. 100-120kmph dibbly dobblers that won't deviate an inch and are just screaming to be hit.
Open with Chatara and Mire, if they are going well leave them on for 7 overs. And bring them on to finish their quotas before the batting powerplay - it's insane watching some of the bowling changes we have made. It's like the captain is working to a script rather than assessing the match situation. You know the batsmen are going to cream you in the last 5-10 overs, so why leave your best bowler until then to have his figures destroyed? It might have worked a few years ago, but cricket has changed. May as well let your best bowler finish his quota when he has a chance of breaking partnerships (added benefit of keeping the runs down).
Edit: on reflection, Utseya might be worth considering against WI. Based on reputation irrespective of what he's bowling this week, WI might show him some respect?
