england were poor in the early and mid nineties. they never played better cricket consistently than the aussies or south africans during that time. perhaps you should have watched the games.sloandog wrote:Chill ! Surely we are not talking about the same England team that didn't win an Ashes series in 16 yearssloandog wrote:Chill ! They were far from "s***", at the time thye were probably playing better cricket than the Aussies, the Indians and the South Africans.

Re: Hick
In the mid nineties England were better than India and South Africa. They won against South Africa in 1994 at home and then away in 1995/96 away, and then in 1998 they drew the series. Okay maybe they wern't as good as the Aussies, but lets face it.....who was ?? And England were head and shoulders above the Indians

yeah, that's the same england

england were consistently poor and flattered to deceive. they were not better than sout africa and certainly not india or pakistan. england were on a par with new zealand and the windies.
the same england who were caught out in the world cup in 1996 and declined in one day cricket for nearly 15 years. they have started to come good in the last couple of years.

mate, you misunderstood me. i was talking about the decade as a whole not a couple of series. i contend over that time period south africa were a better test nation than england.
now do you get it.
