Surely this is a weak joke by ZC and Alaistair Campbell?

5 yrs is a long time....

Im ecstatic that we will see a flower back in the squad. All zim fans reminisce about the flower days, strong memories.
We are about to see it one more time, for one year. Enjoy the moment. Its like a prisoner obn death row enjoying his last meal. You know it wont last, but it will bring you back to a nicer time in your life...

i muist say i knew he would come for the world cup. im not surprised at all. I always thought it was a 50/50 chance.

As for Taylor..........this isnt good at all.

very very bad.

He might have scored a kolpak contract in england?

Tjo, I have to say no Taylor, no Coventry (I still think he needs some time...) and Price is shocking to say the least. I do hope that we will have another series or two - I fancy Bangladesh and WI, before the world cup starts. Anyone with news regarding the New Zealand A tour which was scheduled for this month?

Looks like a ZC cockup with the press release, then. That's a relief...

I would wait before passing a remark on Grant Flower's return. Clearly, the second division in County Cricket might not have had the greatest of talents, so his performances might look very good. Having, said that, I would agree with the view that a youngster would have to force him out of the side by sheer weight of performance.

But the baffling thing is the abrupt inclusion of Ian Nicolson, for the last ODI and for this tour. What more does Keegan Meth has to do to get a look in, at least in the development squad? I think this single minded "sheer pace only" approach would not work well. We might end up producing a one dimensional attack as SA had for a while in the past decade.

Meth, and for that matter Mupariwa, have a role to play as swing and Brent-like bowlers in LOIs. We might be looking at a future Guy Whittall in case of Meth. Shouldn't he have been given a chance?

I like the inclusion of Ian Nicholson, but not that of Dabengwa. Why ?! He may have scored a century against Ireland on a flat pitch but does he have the ability to do the same agaonist South Africa on the quick bouncy pitches ?? No he does ot ! Why Meth isn't in the side i'll never know, he's scored runs, taken wickets consistently and has proved to be electric in the outfield. To not even be included in the performance squad is an insult, he should have been selected over Dabengwa !

Keegan Meth should definately be included ahead of Dabengwa. Don't we have enough spinners as it is?

can anyone confirm that Ray Price is definitely injured and hasn't been dropped? i reckon Zim would certainly need him if there's any chance of an upset victory against the Proteas

This is going BACKWARDS! The biggest problem here is that he is the Batting Coach/Player that is big sign that says CONFLICT of INterest. AM dissappointed with ZC and Flower. I think thats a bit selfish of him although its within his right. But he is depriving a youngster and seems not really concerned about the future of Zim cos he is certainly NOT the future of Zimbabwe Cricket. Maybe he just wants to have another world cup under his belt! SELFISH!!!! Why not Foster or Tino? Then he will probably cause captaining problems for Elton, depending on how humble a person he is. Will he recommend e.g. foster for a slot in the ODI team at HIS expense???
