Chivanga blessing muzarabani and ngarava for my pace bowlers.
Ngarava impressed me in Pakistan, has really added to his pace and unlucky not to get more wickets

Re: Afghanistan Tour 30 Man Training Squad
I’m assuming this same squad will go straight into another bubble to play Pakistan and maybe even Ireland straight after. It doesn’t make sense to break it. They have to pick wisely.
PJ and Tari have to go for me because they have played against Afghanistan before. Those leg spinners are not a joke . You need experience

Re: Afghanistan Tour 30 Man Training Squad
Not a bad squad Im guessing it was only a matter of time before we started seeing a different pace attack. Can hardly see Jarvis and Chatara coming back. So much unrealized potential from someone like Chitara. One couldnt call it bad player management because we dont even play too much cricket. But for some reasons Chatara just hasnt been able to string more than two games without getting an injury. Now we have to see what Muzarabani can do leading the attack with some county cricket experience not a bad trade off.
Chamu just doesnt deserve a spot in the team. He is lucky to make the 30man squad but to continue as captain is just a slap in the face. What would it take for him to remove his name for the playing 11 and actually give someone who deserves the spot. With BT and the old guard now on the wrong side of 30 the likes of Tari, Burl really need to be steeping up. Wes just cant put a foot wrong great prosecute for us. Interesting to see if they will give him the test cap.

Pretty predictable squad you would think. I don't expect too many surprises in the side. I have a feeling we'll see some players we want to but they won't get game time.
Can't remember if this is a test series or short for cricket. If it is the latter, then obviously Chamu gets picked.

Centuries for Prince & Musakanda. Both booking their places on the plane to the UAE. Muvuta got hammered again.

Burl got a duck . I’m sure they will probably play another 4 day game so he will have plenty of time to get a score. I’m really happy for Tari, he really has had to fight to get back in the picture. I don’t think he will waste it.
Re: Afghanistan Tour 30 Man Training Squad
Tari scoring a ton has really thrown a spanner into the mix, I didn't have a spot for him in my 20-man squad but you'd think a ton gets you on the plane. Kaito also is doing himself no harm by scoring more runs, although I highly doubt they'll take 3 specialist openers for the tests.
Burl getting a duck here is really bad timing considering Tari got a ton, the familiar tail of his career that when he needs a big score he fails, or gets injured or something else happens, this dates back to just prior to the 2015 WC where he was having a great domestic season and looked a smokey for the WC. He got selected in the game v Canada which was a full blown tryout match. Burl got 15 off 30 odd whilst Chamu; who'd been so out of form and out of the selection discussion scored a 130 and was selected instead.
You can also look back to 2016 when the tri series with SL & WI was in ZIm, Streak was about to pick him before he got injured, Tari was picked and debuted instead. Then after Burl had finally debuted and was firmly in the side, he fell ill due to food poising from eating fish in Sri Lanka and was replaced by Tari again, who in turn took his chances in the 3 ODIs and debuted in the Test match, Burl was the superior 4-day player with a much better record but Tari was the man with the hot hand at the time.
After again working his way back into the side and performing well in Ireland and Bangladesh, he earned a BPL deal, which in turn cost him his chance to make the test side v Sri Lanka last year because he hadn't played the Logan Cup prior to the series, a groin injury then cost him a spot to tour BD,
Burl has had such a stop-start career, when will this guy finally take that step and cement himself in the side? He'll be 27 this year and has only 1 Test and 18 ODIs to his name, when he debuted v Afghanistan I think we all thought he'd be a constant presence in the side from that point on.

That is a very accurate analysis of his career. Burl, Tari and PJ are not prospects anymore. They have to deliver when picked. It will get even more intense if Wes or Shumba get a big score because they bowl as well. This squad is not going to be way to pick .
Don’t be surprised to see a Mudzinganyama or Kasuza get a big score as well. I feel like the longer format is our best format because we have openers who can contribute unlike the other formats. If Cremer had stuck around we would have had a solid team
