I think all of our players have something to gain from practice matches. Taylor is hardly proven at test level, Taibu needs to show he can play long innings and Ray Price needs to show he can pick up wickets when run rate isnt a factor. All of our team have been resting from tests for six years. We need to develop our strongest eleven for the short term goal of performing well against in the upcoming tests. We can develop depth with the A tours once our senior side is playing full tests.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

I thought that Marillier would be in there as he is a good enough player and had a pretty good season, maybe even play for the national team soon if he stays there for a while instead of going back to England,I also hear that a couple of county sides are looking at signing him for a couple of years along with Ervine,Chigumbura and Taylor, can anybody share any light on this?

He played quite a bit of second team cricket for Derbyshire, but never did enough to win a contract. I think he got dropped by the Rocks recently...
