still problems
Re: still problems
My comment about Chingoka and Bvute buying cars isn't meant to say I don't think they should buy cars with their money. It is in reference to the unpunished corruption that went on in Zim cricket over the last decade or so. A whole ton of money went missing and was never accounted for - Chingoka and Bvute know where it went.

HHH thank you for the kindness.
Sloandog,, I am Lawyer, i work at wintertons and I have been instructed where my boss has acted on cricket matters.
Eugene please grow up. do you honestly feel that if any money had gone missing. My hero David coltart would just have said, guys I am the new minister its business as usual. I Know not. two you and I know that ZC went through so many public audits, do you think all the authoritys the world over would have just been sitting around twiddling their thumbs.
its nice to peddle rumours, but my training says one can only do so where you have proof,, all are innocent untill proven guilty. to date i have not seen the evidence that supports your position.
How ever those doods have done it they changed the nature of cricket,, have you been to sports club of late.. cricket is enjoyed by everyone. that was not the case ten years ago,,it was a small minority sport.
China is a great succes because there society has learned to consume what they produce,, i think the success of cricket lies in its ability to internaly grow in zim . cricket must be consumed like football by everyone, when that begins to happen it will create a cricketing eceonomy that can sustain the sport. numbers are what matter my dear friends. Look at BCCI or The ECB

Re: still problems
Mate, that's EXACTLY what happened. No, David Coltrat wouldn't have wanted this to happen, but the man was powerless back then, and he, like many other Zimbabwe Cricket officials, would have been wary of Bvute and Chingoka since they were in touch with Mugabe's Zanu PF party. Don't just come on this forum and try and justify what these two !"£$%! have done to Zimbabwean Cricket over the past 6-7 years, because the fact of the matter is that both men are guilty, a case that needs no evidenceflash g wrote:Eugene please grow up. do you honestly feel that if any money had gone missing. I have not used words that are unebecoming with you, you do not need to do the same with me. two with out those two men cricket would have remained the preserve of a few. cricket is now national sport this is why we can write about the vitoris and the chakabvas. the truth is zim is a predominently black country and it would only follow suit that the game like in india would have to be taken to the masses. What ever you may allege or say about them the the sport is all the more richer for it. As for you personel feelings towards them those are yours, they will not distract form the facts that are on the ground.
In five years time when the current structures come right, they will have the last laugh and mark my words, they will please note the this day..26 july 2011. As for these tags that you would like to attribute to people that is yours business.
ps you have no right to apportion political partys to anyone.. by the way I am white, and i strongly feel zim had to change just like Sa has to for the country to be susutanbale. a few can not enjoy the rich pickings from the brow of the majority... We had a good deal In RHodesia we messed it up our selves by not understanding how to leave with the blacks.. Please do not continue to make that mistake. if you want to live in Africa you have to play ball with the owners of the country... cricket sloan is for everyone

Re: still problems
Haha Flash G, you're a funny man, though somehow I don't think it's intentional!
Do you really believe there was no corruption in ZC? That no money was syphoned off? Like really?
Also all this about Zim being a country which is adjusting and the ZC not having money-may I suggest that they don't give the players contracts they can't afford?! It's not difficult. Just don't promise them the money in the first place.
And cricket would not have remained reserved for a few! Your defence of these guys who DESTROYED our game is quite frankly infuriating! If they wanted to take the game to the masses do you not think there was a better way of doing that than the INTIMIDATION and RACIAL BASED SELECTION? Or do you just deny that such things happened? Do you not think the current team would have benefited from having the rebels to play with, against and help them train?
"In five years time when the current structures come right, they will have the last laugh and mark my words, they will please note the this day..26 july 2011" Possibly one of the most humorous things I've read in a while. But I won't deny the current admin has improved, what with the franchise system (which was forced on them by the ICC) and all, but these guys OWE us as much after destroying our game and even then they're not doing a good job from what I and most people see. You claim cricket is being taken to the masses?! My friend, you are not on the ground. The masses don't even know the rules of cricket, when it's being played etc, it's still reserved for the elite, only now the majority of the elite are black. If they really want to take cricket to the masses they should take it to mission schools all over the country, government schools, town clubs etc, but they don't. This administration is better than the past one but it is nowhere near what we should have to move the game to where it needs to go.
Lastly, I loved the statement "ps you have no right to apportion political partys to anyone". Stop denying facts, Sloandog has the right of it, we all know it, you're delusional if you deny it. That said, Ozias isn't as bad as some might imagine, he actually tries to move things along.
Don't try to come back with this infuriating rubbish, I know a lot more about this than you can imagine.

Maweni
I have not had so much fun in such a long time.. Let me say I am a lawyer at WINTERTONS,, please find out where that firm operates from. two what we do three how we are involved in cricket. I know a lot more than you think. i will not argue with you. I know stuff that you will never know, so you can continue sitting were ever you are , with the limited information that you have.. If members of the forum want facts,, I will be more than happy to chip in and share.
for example Williams is in Sa pllaying hcockey,, he had a fall out with the selectors, and the coaching staff at tuskers , his greatest problem is the influence that comes from his dad. three half the time he is suffering from some ailement or the other, when he is not taking stuff or sleeping with married women in the city of kings. he is a great player with serious issues.
ps Maweni to say sloan has the right to say which political party someons should belong to,,, when you are thinking right outside of what ever issues you have about zim,, I hope you will not that the right to belong to a political party is an indvidual right, not an item of apportionment ny the majority

Re: still problems
Welcome to the forum flash g! So just to clarify your position, are you saying that no money has ever been siphoned off? Does your law firm represent ZC? What is your opinion on all of the player unrest over the last decade? Are all the players wrong and the ZC administration right? I am more than happy for you to provide facts or the truth as you see it.
To my way of thinking, ZC escaped corruption because the asian members of the ICC have no problem with corruption in the game and wanted Zimbabwe's vote on many crucial matters. When Malcolm Speed tried to take a stand on these issues he was swiftly removed from the ICC by the asian bloc. Within Zimbabwe itself, given the high amount of corruption in the country, I guess a few million being siphoned off here and there probably didn't register that high on the governments list of priorities. Dispossessing people of their land and violently oppressing the opposition was probably more important. ZC seems to have only cleaned up its act since the last election.
I am not sure if living under Mugabe and his ZANU thugs is what I would classify as a good deal.

Re: still problems
Flash G welcome to the forum and it is good that you are a lawyer, while we are at it, how about debunking the conspiracy theory about the conflict of interest beweet Dominus Sport and ZC and clear the air for us laymen. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2299
I have to say I was impressed with ZC when I went to Dangamvura 2009, my hood in Mutare and saw nets at the local highschool. Cricket was only played at one high school and a few primary schools. So I do give them that, but these are things they should have been doing anway without pressure from the ICC. For me they are more of a smoke screen to say "look we are doing something."
Which could be anything really, I also know things which you will never know. But this may also mean that there IS a lot of stuff to hide which "we will never know about" And you blame us for coming up with conspiracy theories. Obviously all this hidden info is NOT GOOD and would certainly cause problems if it was known. Who would want to hide the good they have done especially an org like ZC which has lost a lot of credibilty.flash g wrote:I know a lot more than you think. i will not argue with you. Flash g, are you by chance a relative of a current Zimbabwean cricketer who has represented the under 17s and under 19s?
