This is pretty much our best team atm. I mean you could include Ervine, Cremer or Jarvis, but this is pretty much as good as we've got.

Taylor & Mutizwa - the Zimbabwe handy man hoping they will do another perfect repair job today .
If Mutizwa repairs these innings again then he will have nailed the middle order job ahead of Ervine .

The good part is the more Zim fail the more likelihood of the mature players getting another look in - Matsi, Duffin, Ewing. If Zim turn to someone like Raza I can bet you Lamb & Dabengwa will be in the mix for ODIs as well. All of this could've easily been avoided. Initially, with a team of say Duffin, Taylor, Hamilton, Vusi, Matsi, Taibu, Ewing, Elton, Price, Rainsford, Mpofu you're starting with mature experienced guys whom no one can begrudge much for getting the nod first up. Thereafter it's simpler to replace those who underperform, say Vusi with Waller when he fails, Mpofu with Jarvis, or Taylor with Mutizwa because everyone understands that if you fail a younger player will be given a chance in your place and we all know who's next in line, including fans. Now we find ourselves all over the show and lacking coordinated focus in terms of batting order, selection, succession or blooding in the youngsters seeing as they themselves can end up being dropped for older players! Now these oldheads (Taibu, Vusi, Hami, Mpofu, Elton) can fail time and again but will seemingly be indispensable as the youngters have appeared to be not much better or even worse! Overly excited decision-makers trying to be too clever! Attempted to rebuild a team which did not require such a futile process. Things should be done systematically. Let's see how you deal with this mess after Zim gets white washed or even crushed by an innings within 4 or even 3 days in the Test match. What then? More youngsters I think not! You'll be forced to 'play it conservative' as they say my thinking is, because if the beating is this hard in our own backyard, it will be even worse in NZ!

I really dont like this anusha chap but in his irritating noise he makes good points. How do the visitors know our conditions better? I mean we've dropped our most suited bowler and packed spinners on a pace friendly pitch...and they pick an all pace attack chose to bat first...who is at home? hhm I think I get what you are saying let the youngster grow naturally whilst the old heads hold fort...

Congratulations ont he 50 to Taylor. I hope he maintains such consistency. He deserves and is far better thn his average suggests. Things can get very ugly for NZ if Waller gets in. They might find themselves chasing 300+ if these two carry their bats.
