Chitara and Jarvis ?
Chitara bowled 88Mph against India in that T20 in 2010, when just 19!
Jarvi bowled 148Kph (92mph!) against Kalles in 09. I think what we're seeing with Jarvis is simply a lack of confidence with his back. He's clearly holding back, but when he's really fit and has more confidence, I think he can really unleash some steam.

These two are probably the quickest in the country, follwed closely by Ian Nicholson, although he's had a very average season.

Having sais that, pace isn't everything, as Keegan Meth and Glen Querl have shown for the Tuskers. Exciting times ahead.

And just out of curiosity, can anybody think of a period in our cricketing history where our bowling stocks have been so exciting ? I can't

No. There hasn't been anything like the potential that exists at present.

Back in the 1909-10 season the bowling was just as promising as this season. Stephenson and Bourdillon held a lot of promise. Even though ZCF obviously wasn't around back then, you can still find the old telegrams from the Rhodesian Cricket Gentlemen Society.
FROM "SLOANE CANINE" TO "RHODESIAN CRICKET GENTLEMEN SOCIETY":

I am very impressed with Bourdillon. He was bowling at over 65 miles per hour, I am certain! With that sort of pace he is bound to dismiss batsmen from every colony!
FROM "PONDERER" TO "SLOANE CANINE":

Good sir, I vehemently disagree with your ideologies. Leonard George Robinson who has been out of form for a number of years now is the most experienced player and is therefore the best. I will dispose of my Salisbury Sports Club membership if Bourdillon is persevered with. Experience trumps form!
FROM "TT CRICKET" TO "RHODESIAN CRICKET GENTLEMEN SOCIETY":

By jove, what were the selectors thinking?
FROM "SANATH" TO "RHODESIAN CRICKET GENTLEMEN SOCIETY":

sanath from ceylon. rhodesia keep losing unless follow my advice. bat first at queens always otherwise lose. sanath give truth good advice.
FROM "RHODESIADOGGY" TO "RHODESIAN CRICKET GENTLEMEN SOCIETY":

Good evening chaps. Has anyone found a link to today's game? I am extraordinarily keen to view it.

So if anybody is aware of a rail link from Umtali to Bulawayo please inform me as soon as possible.
Nothing much has changed I guess.

Bowling is probably the area that Zim can probably rely on to cause upsets. Batting less likely.
Like I said on paper Zim can put together an attack that can be better than Bangladesh, WI and even NZ or Srilanka (minus Malinga).
But to do that they have to get the selections spot on. This is where I respect Brent and Houghton more than the national decision makers.

Based on what I have seen in this tournament here are my bowling line ups.
T20.
Meth
Vitori
Price/Cremer/M'Shangwe
Muzhanghe (I know but you have to make bold decisions)

Odi
Meth
Vitori/Jarvis
NCube/Mpofu
Price/Cremer
M'Shangwe/Utseya

Test
Meth
Jarvis
Vitori
Cremer

I dont expect everyone to agree with this. But let me know if anyone deserves to be in this list. Elton has to fight it out for the top 6. Dont fool yourself into thinking he is a bowler. He can bowl but he is not a bowler for international games if Zim are to gain a tactical advantage with their bowling.

 Brilliant! Love this forum. Thats what makes it fresh!

Anusha, Sloandog, and who? I fancy the Dogg would've put that last bit differently though - would've been the same centuries ago!

Where on earth is Anusha? Maybe he'll be back foro our internationals. For all those who missed the action here it is. Must be Zimdoggy's doing! :D
