Hhm, I have noticed that you seem to have strong sentiments to some players for no good reason.

Stuart Matsikenyeri is useless. End of discussion.

i remember this match http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/66293.html like it was yesterday - was a good one!!

Chasing a modest 192 for victory, Zimbabwe slumped to 15 for four inside 10 overs. It seemed as if Heath Streak's men, thrashed by an innings in both Tests against England and beaten by minnows Ireland in a one-day warm-up match, were about to suffer another convincing defeat. But a stand of 96 in 131 balls between Flower, playing in his 204th one-day international, and 20-year-old Stuart Matsikenyeri, in only his fourth, turned the match around.
goes down as 44 in his stats

Unfortunately I'm not a Matsi fan (but i was equally dismissive of Vusi till a year or so ago) ...

ZC are doing what they said they would do. Selecting based on merit and if Matsi has merited his selection, then itncertainly says more about our 'premium-holy-cow-national players' than it does about Matsi. What kind of message will ut send if Matis out performs wvery1 in the local league and you dont select him?
Thats the kind of attitude that every1 else musr have perform beyond a doubt.

Perhaps hhm could write some crime mysteries with Innocent Chinyoka as the villian and Matsi and Eddie (Rainsford) as the crime solving duo.

That may well be the case, but the evidence where a few people here are concerned is overwhelming!

Think of eugene in another post where he agrees 'Craig Ervine shouldn't have been dropped, especially not for Regis&Mutizwa'(except Waller)
-Unless you're blind, it's clear for everyone to see that Regis will be a far better batsman than both Mutizwa&Malcolm ever will, yet he and a few people here throw their weight behind a struggling Malcolm instead. Again, Mutizwa has been, across various formats in our domestic league multiple times better than Malcolm, had an extremely superior ODI record and totally out played Malcom in the bulk of the ODIs they've featured in together. If not for the mere fact that he's white, on what basis does he exclude Waller?

Again young andybligz93 continues to campaign against and express unwarranted disdain at my mention of a host of players like Matsi, Panyangara, Rainsford etc.
- What motivates him to denigrate such players? No single Zimbabwean bowler right now(Mpofu&Jarvis included) can justifiably claim to be superior to Rainsford - why would anyone have anything untoward to say about him? I never sense the same kind of negative energy against my mention of Duffin&Ewing, and we all know how exhaustive I've been about those two. The difference being Duffin has achieved nowhere near as much as Matsi this season, yet entire topics on him didn't receive responses anywhere near as ill! My unassuming mention of nobodys like Steve Marillier(28yrs old), Nicolson(25) & Benade(25), no problem, smiles broaden! I wouldn't be surprised to hear some here rate Friend higher than Watambwa as a bowler!

You're not too innocent yourself, and I doubt you guys even realise that of yourselves from time to time.

The point is, I'm used to such things. I'm in South African remember! No one wanted Philander in the team, and when he excelled 'unexpectedly' and later got injured, they wanted him to sit out for de Lange(his replacement) when he returned, yet Morne had been below par! Instead a good de Lange had to sit out because they want to wait for Morne to reagin form, in the hope Philander slips up, so de Lange can replace him! It's a no brainer that Rudolph was going to fail as an opener, and Alviro deserves it instead, but because it was hard for them to put him in place of Prince in the middle order. Instead of leaving Rudolph out altogether, they axed Alviro instead! After Rudolph fails, they axe Prince and put Rudolph in his place so Alviro can open when he should have in the first place.

All the while fans' comments in e-media, forums etc have been in agreement with the calls that have been made(and it's no secret what race has the privilege of access to the internet - besides Africans here don't care about cricket at all). It drives me mad to think that any right minded person could insist that, instead of Morne Morkel, Philander should be the one who sat out for de Lange! What on earth possessed Kirsten&Co to think AB is a better player and captain than Amla is beyond me, and if you follow SA/SuperXV Rugby, you'll agree Chiliboy Ralepele should've got the captaincy of the Bulls ahead of Spies - who has for a couple of years been really apalling for both the Bulls&Boks!
