Are all these players studying in the UK or given the game away to pursue a working life? Also I thought Peacemore Zimwa was a promising spinner, anyone know what he is up to?
I think Kyle Bowie was playing club cricket down in Tasmania last year, I don't know if he will be playing there again this season. From what I've heard on here, Lake, Bell and Geyle are in England, Light might be over there too. Zimwa is still playing cricket in Zimbabwe & no idea about Odendaal. :)

Zimwa is playing club cricket for WITS University in Gauteng and was last year mentored by Imran Tahir and Eddie Lie at the Highveld Lions Franchise. He plans to come back if offered a decent contract if not he plans to add on to his level 1 coaching certificate.

I'm with jaybro, this kid always seemed a cut above the rest in terms of patriotism - I think he even made a solitary post here once that flew under the radar with a zim pride theme to it.

Glad to have him, who knows what he can be. He has his international platform if he plays well.

What is it with zim youth and the UK exactly? As opposed to Australia USA etc.
It seems as if that's just the done thing. Is it because they hold British passports or a love for bangers and mash?

Million dollar question. There's no domestic schedule issued by ZC yet.

Traditionally, season usually started September / October time, but as money has gotten shorter that's been pushed further and further back. Could be as late as December / January. Less games to play this season anyway, after Rocks disappeared...

The truth of the matter is that there are no viable options for a working career for these young boys. The decision to move them on to the UK lies with the parents who want to see their kids have an opportunity to get a high school scholarship that will lead to a county gig or University scholarship or subsidy. The reality is that making a living in Zimbabwe is difficult for all both black and white and more so for young white guys who have far fewer opportunities to enter formal employment in Zimbabwe. Its unlike the past where they had a solid backing of a viable commercial farm or business now its day to day hustling and its a struggle for all.

In that article it stated that he was hoping to have bee selected for the recent A tour to Bangladesh. How in gods name did he expect to get anywhere near that plane if he isn't even playing franchise cricket
