Would be a surprise of Masuku makes the squad. ZC will have to drop one of their development projects Nyamhuri or Gwandu. Good for Masuku if he does get the call up but it a tab bit late for him. He really hasnt been in top form of late. Kinda peaked one or two seasons ago. Do coaches have any imput at all in squad selection. From the chair's interview seems even he has a say in it but the coaches just get a working group without much input.

Think is on the back of his 7 wickets against Scotland.

No it’s not. It’s off the back of the politics.

ZC simply point-scoring by selecting the past his prime, medium pace trundler Masuku.

True, if only selectors actually came forward to justify their selections and the thinking behind it. It looks as though BT may have to take the gloves in the ODIs as well tough ask for him. But just shows how much we have regressed.

Ya its just weird that ZC will succumb to some social media pressure. Masuku is there, and probably a bit past it and gets gassed after about 3 overs and knocks 15kph off his deliveries. Evans is there and I mean they really dont like him, he was gleefully told he was done 5 months ago and to fuck off and they've walked it back and they dont really have to.
I mean is it a boss saying, look Dave and Elty you'd better pick a couple of these guys because its getting hot in the kitchen, or is it the other way around?

If they pick Masuku, who does look past it, its a lot less about winning than it is about averting some hostility. It just doesnt add up.

They have effectively given in to Coltart and the ‘petition’. It’s a shame though because Masuku isn’t good enough. Maybe 5 years ago.

I assume Coltart was just mentioning his name because he’s a Bulawayo lad. In reality I doubt he has ever seen him actually bowl, certainly not recently. This is the problem with almost all of the social media campaign, it is mostly by people who have no clue and/or also have an agenda themselves.

Again as I said a couple of weeks ago, none of these players, are turning us into a world beating side and I really wish these people would start asking bigger questions and start ‘campaigning’ on the real fundamental issues and the big questions, rather than picking a name out of a hat and starting a petition for them to be selected. It doesn’t really change anything.

Why are you so obsessed with Naqvi? I have told you before forget about him. He is not good enough and is not eligible to represent Zimbabwe.
I actually agree with you that Naqvi will be a fizzer, but he does deserve a go.

I think Naqvi is the type that can master pedestrian bowling and be patient, but the top level will overwhelm him.

I think you'll see alot of 100 ball 20's type innings if he plays tests.

But I mean....after the big 3- now 4 again retire, who else do we have really.

Very happy with this squad. Praying the selectors are just picking on what is best for zim cricket, have to be positive and give credit where I have been screaming for them to do.

My team Would be

1. Bennett
2.Curran
3. Taylor ( wk )
4. Williams
5. Ervine
6. Raza ( c)
7.Campbell
8. Munyonga / Newman
9. Evans
10. Richard
11. Blesssing

Bowling
1. Richard
2. Blessing
3. Evans
4. Raza
5. Bennett / Williams / Campbell / munyonga

Extra batting depth and enough bowlers to make up the last set of ten.thoughts ?
