After 35 overs we were 169-2, Afghanistan were 170-4.
Strange call to continue with the spinners though. But maybe it's the day for some captaincy masterstrokes.

Im not sure this is the power play, they may of taken it between 10-15 overs considering their start?

Really feel we are presenting a victory on a platter to the Afghans, and they are refusing to accept it so far. Another day, these guys would have been massacred.

Chatara hasn't bowled since the 9th over though, surely he needs to be given a crack?
The spinners aren't taking wickets quickly enough.
If Chatara bowled and took 2 wickets in an over that would turn the match.
Special shout out to the Cricinfo commentary too, it's more passionate than a typical ODI. There's some nice editorial license in there

Everyone has been a bit harsh on BRMT's bowling changes here but maybe his constant swapping of the spinners hasn't let the Afghanis get their eyes in, the run rate has slowed a lot plus now he also has plenty of bowling options. He can pretty much bowl who ever he likes now because they all have overs up their sleeves …..

I'm worried the required run rate doesn't tell the full story though. One good over and everything changes.jaybro wrote:Everyone has been a bit harsh on BRMT's bowling changes here but maybe his constant swapping of the spinners hasn't let the Afghanis get their eyes in, the run rate has slowed a lot plus now he also has plenty of bowling options. I just feel like wickets is the only way Zimbabwe can win this, and they aren't getting them.

It didn't seem like the seamers were making an impact after all they were going for plenty to start off this mess we find ourselves in …..
