Myers in the 90's.
Does he play any serious cricket in the UK? If he doesn’t then that has to be impressive. He could score his second century in 10 FC games without any real continuity or full time training. That’s good considering that none of the other kids in his age group have scored more than 2 and they are professionals with at least 3 times as many games. Let’s hope he gets there.
Barring Matt Welch who's 2 years younger, has played far less domestic cricket than Dion and has probably done better, all things considered, and struggles to get a game.
Dion can waltz home when he chooses and gets the red carpet treatment.
We were talking about a level playing field and here's evidence to the contrary.
You have a point because Myers did sneak in a game against Afghanistan the last time they played us. It was after our domestic season. He had already gone to Uni. They clearly see him as someone with potential.

Emmanuel Bhawa is around as well. Let's see if he gets a game. I'm not suggesting he shouldn't, depending on how long he's got left at Uni, but then afford MW the same opportunities, he's every bit as good as Bhawa and Myers.
I'm just talking Franchise games here obviously. The system is clogged with a few very pedestrian players.

My advice for him would be to join the rocks. There is a gap there. The eagles are stacked. Imagine K-long, Welch Sr, Marumani, Chamu, Wes, Ervine. The list goes on. Frost as well

Bawa at least 1-2 years behind Myers in terms of uni.

Are either of them playing any cricket at all in the U.K.? I’ve found nothing at all on Myers. Haven’t looked for Bawa

I'm actually glad that they're still trying to encourage Myers. Could easily have gone the other way, and punished him for leaving by ignoring him. He's clearly got something about him.

I always saw Myers as a cut above the rest of the under 19s.

I remember him getting runout on 96 against a decent SA “A” during covid as well. Some of those guys have gone on to play for the Proteas.
