Courtney Walsh man
Legend
Ever since ZC got him into the setup, the fast bowling is different. Evans Muzarabani nailing yorkers and pace on the short balls is good aswell
Australia needed to name Smith as Hazlewoods replacement rather than naming him in travel reserves. He could not play in todays game.
If Marsh can't play , they can call a pacer from Australia in a couple of days.
Todays result mightve been different had Smith been in the playing XI in place of Green or Maxwell.

Re: T20 World Cup Match 2 - Zimbabwe vs Australia (13th February)
Just got home and watched the highlights. Never seen us play so perfectly. What the helly.
You always expected Aus to come back into things and we would slip up, but that didn't happen. Yes, we can learn to be a bit more aggressive with the bat and push things. I know they said they identified 170 as the score needed -and so it turned out- but I reckon we could have got 200 and actually pushed the game further. We need to start thinking like a Test status nation. These things will hep us to build further and reassert against the smaller teams. We all know we are susceptible to the massive slip, so we can't allow wins like this to gloss over such things and we fall into lapses. We have had big wins in the past, but never really built on them.
In saying that, what a win. Bennett is such a player man. I'm a little unsure what Wellington offers though. I think we really need to get some work done in our bowling stocks. Can't always rely on the big 2 and Brad.

Kinda worried about Raza and Bidza missing but hope they are fine for the next match! We need to keep the focus up as that is our final! We win that and we are most probably through! What a day man i love this team soo much, the job is not done though and with Ben on his way it will stabilise the top order a bit! Can accelerate more than BT would be able to do right now! Let go ‘mbabwe!
The higher you go the cooler it becomes.

Zimbabwe looked completely dominant in every facet of the game. Unbelievable!
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

Two little things that just showed we were on.
Clive yet to play a game in the tournament. Comes on to sub field and gives everything to stop a four. Could have easily gone half hearted.
Tony same again. First game playing and doesn’t bat. Stops a six and takes that catch. Easily could have gone through the motions.

Lets give credit to the selectors Musekiwa and Munyonga a good fielders...Andy31 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 13, 2026 9:50 pmTwo little things that just showed we were on.

Everyone is going to give it their all. Munyonga will probably retain his batting spot because he took a great catch? Now that's an actual stretch.
Musekiwa is a fantastic boundary rider. Unbelievable athlete.

I'd love to know if Courtney Walsh has actually had any input into the bowling. We bowled brilliantly, but what CW had to do with it, we would only know for real from a bowler over a beer.

Ive always wondered why teams dont select 12/13th men based on their fielding ability.Googly wrote: ↑Sat Feb 14, 2026 11:32 amThat's a stretch , bud.Andy31 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 13, 2026 9:50 pmTwo little things that just showed we were on.

They need to play Ben in the Ireland game. He is a solid no3/no4 option & can bat at other positions too if raza & burl come up the order if the situation demands power hitting. One of myers/tony should get dropped.
Ireland has played against Zimbabwe a lot and their plans on how to tackle Muzarabani & co. will be a lot more clear than any other team. If Ngarava is fit, one of the spinners go out, but I think Raza should play 2 frontline spinners. It's worth the gamble. Cremer can really slow things down in the middle overs if his split webbing issue is sorted
