I'm certainly not the greatest Ervine fan around, but he looked really good ... the best I've seen him bat since the last World Cup. He seems to rise to the occasion.SpitfiresKent wrote:Very comfortable and was receiving a lot of praise from guys on commentary (especially from Warne) Got out playing the sweep.eugene wrote:How did Ervine look?

One thing I enjoyed from the match was the commentary from Shane Warne, he seemed to know a fair bit about the Zimbabwe players and was always encouraging with his comments. At no point did he make fun of disrespect the boys like Hayden did, although he did miss pronounce Chigs name once and had a laugh but it was more at himself ......

This so much. I hate when commentators show disrespect to teams. Warne may not be the most likeable person, but he never showed disrespect. It was almost as if he actually wanted to help the team. I remember in the first match Hayden butchering the names so much. They were not even hard names and he was just struggling. Chigumbura came on to bowl and im sure he said, Chi-gam-bew-rer

Hayden was hopeless, a complete embarrassment. Great batsman, and I guess if anyone can show contempt to Zimbabwe it's the guy who scored a Test 380... but as a commentator: rubbish.zimbos_05 wrote:jaybro wrote:One thing I enjoyed from the match was the commentary from Shane Warne, he seemed to know a fair bit about the Zimbabwe players and was always encouraging with his comments. Warne on the other hand, he's a great commentator. I enjoy him during the Australian summer, very insightful and a very good cricket brain (everyone knows this though). He should probably be the host of the Australian commentary team, not Mark "I agree with whatever he just said" Nicholas

Warne's comments on Craig probably just part of his Hants love-in (love for Sean through Craig).
What I am interested in was if ZIMDOGGY and the lads met up? Or was that another match?

Last thing I heard was that he was selling laptops and tablets for AC. But that was a while ago.grant wrote:We need this guy : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32QONr7LEwQ
any idea what he's doing these days
Re: [Match Thread] West Indies v Zimbabwe (World Cup Pool B)
He played, not very successfully, in the UK in summer 2013. Since then he has only played 1 FC and 1 List A games for the Rhinos. It looks as if he is registered with one of the cricket agencies, and is trying to play in the UK again in 2015:foreignfield wrote:Last thing I heard was that he was selling laptops and tablets for AC. True. Warney was unaware of Craig and Chiggs talent. If I m not wrong he termed Chigumbura's 6 as 'here comes tailender's shot.' Either Pommie or Bishop corrected him saying that he isva good finisher. I dont think Warne did his homework. Liked Ian Bishop more in this regard as he was balanced despite WI humiliating us.ZIMFAN wrote:Warne's comments on Craig probably just part of his Hants love-in (love for Sean through Craig).

WI getting a taste of their own medicine that they dished on us
And they're already two down in the chase. Kyle Abbott with the wickets....
