It's a funny comment but it's what stymies ZC and ZANU, they cannot for the life of them understand why no-one wants to work for no reward, but just for the greater good.
I made a valid comment earlier- they need a plan to integrate youngsters into the franchises. Just persevering with the same old guys year in and year out does nothing for our local game. The problem is the shortage of boys good enough to legitimately step up. They don't necessarily leave to play cricket elsewhere either, they leave also to go to University. The only two youngsters of late are Jongwe and Mambo I believe.
You can't take too much time off in the modern era or you get left behind. The Zimbos often take a couple of year's break and return to the Motherland 30kg's heavier and professional drinkers.

I take your point. You'd have to be extremely patriotic (or stupid) to choose Zim over the chance to play for England. But , for instance, what is stopping Sean Ervine playing? He's not gonna get picked for England and has the chance to play international cricket for Zim. I guess it is due to some legality involving Kolpak contracts?

I'm not speaking for him, don't really know the guy, but yes he would lose his Kolpak status. I also don't know how much fun it is dealing with the politics of the cricket here. The white guys are viewed with some scepticism by many of their fellow players, dislike by a few and ambivalence by even less. As far as the ZC guys go, well there's no love lost at all. It's just a bunch of guys circling warily around each other from what I see. For sure there's the allure of international cricket, but it's less than it used to be because we are not as competitive. We soldier on and hope for better days.

That's years old, he's way more accomplished than that now. It's still good to watch, you can always tell the good guys, they are just more thoughtful and precise in their set ups and they are well balanced and have little idiosyncrasies that show the hours they have spent in the nets. He's a thinking committed cricketer and has great technique, and has a great career ahead of him.

Can someone tell me how PJ Moor is doing? Like provide me with a link to his stats for whatever team he's playing for.

All these guys are signed as Kolpak players or residents, would loose status if they represented Zim .....

The Currans, Welch and Byrom probably think they have a shot of playing for England ......
