That 2017 qualifier squad was seriously such a good side.
Zuwaho was almost forced to be included due to the weight of runs he’d scored in the domestic season previously, but looking back I would have chosen somebody like Burl or Musakanda.
Man, to have all those guys back and firing would be amazing.
Meanwhile, we slide further into the abyss against the tigers

Heath Streak tried a lot and as a result he had to get fired with a tag of " racist " and same goes with Stephen Mangongo who was'nt in backfoot to speak about Zimbabwe's grassroot level cricket after their exit in 2018 ICC U19 WC, and was also fired.
Ex players like Mutendera, Shepherd Makunura, Chawaguta were bunch of failure and mediocre brain in their playing days, appointing these mediocres in selector, coach or management posts can't make Zimbabwe improve as their thinking ability is limited.Prosper Utseya is the biggest failure among them both as coach and now 2 yrs as a selector, moreover he develops racial environment in the team. These sort of individuals should'nt be holding any post.
Streak & Taibu were star cricketers their thinking abilities were all bright. Domestic and A team games were carried in equal terms under their reign. Zimbabwe not only needs ex cricketers they need ex cricketers who weren't a mediocre and were star performers, so that right kind of thinking takes place for the development of the team.

By ex-cricketers, I meant players from the late-90's and early-2000's. I meant players like Guy Whittall, Grant Flower, Andy Flower, Neil Johnson, Heath Streak etc.Black Mamba wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 12:44 pmHeath Streak tried a lot and as a result he had to get fired with a tag of " racist " and same goes with Stephen Mangongo who was'nt in backfoot to speak about Zimbabwe's grassroot level cricket after their exit in 2018 ICC U19 WC, and was also fired.

I feel that youngsters can be more spirited if some of these ex-players (with reasonably good records) get involved.

Current partnership (Sikandar and WM): 31 runs in 7 overs.
A good little partnership is going on.
WM is on 29*.

The team under Streak was indeed our best. The players were happy and seemed energised and inspired. That’s all you can really have hoped for coming off the previous outlook of the side.
He was roasted because he bungled the UAE game and some felt he was too favourable on Waller. He was human after all.
Imagine if everyone else at ZC was sacked after one mistake.
We probably would have retained GC as well.

UAE is not a bad team. They almost beat Pakistan in Asia Cup 2016. Losing to them shouldn't mean sacking all coaches.ZIMDOGGY wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 12:56 pmThe team under Streak was indeed our best. The players were happy and seemed energised and inspired. And that too when DlS almost robbed the match which rule reduces 8 overs but only 7 runs from the final scoreBangladeshi_Fan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 12:58 pmUAE is not a bad team.
