Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Yep, there's some interesting info on that website (will post about that separately).
Admire MArodza has also served as an umpire.

Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).

264. Now the gentleman in action here, a former test cricketer, is not a Zimbabwean but is linked in a unique way to cricket in Zim. Who is he and what is the connection?
Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Is it John Hampshire, former coach of the Zimbabwe national team?

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Well spotted, it is indeed John Hampshire, the Yorkshire stalwart, and I have to shamefacedly admit that I did not remember him ever coaching Zimbabwe. I thought John Hampshire only worked as an umpire after his playing daysandrewn9 wrote:Is it John Hampshire, former coach of the Zimbabwe national team?

The conncetion I was looking for was a bit more far-flung: Playing for Leicestershire on their tour of Zimbabwe in early 1981, John Hampshire became the first batsmen to score a FC ton against a side representing Zimbabwe. http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archive/S ... 41026.html
Impressively Zimbabwe only conceded their first ever ton in their sixth match. Mike Gatting had come close earlier in that season when he was dismissed for 99 on Middlesex' tour of the country. http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archive/S ... 40675.html
For Zimbabwe two batsmen reached 100 at the first time of asking, but it's difficult to tell from the scorecard who got there first, Robin Brown or Thomas Dunk. Can someone shed a light on that question? http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archive/S ... 40654.html

If the date given on Cricinfo is correct one should be Lonsdale Skinner, Surrey's Guyanese wk, and the other ... John Edrich?Ming wrote:...intriguing photo. Who are the others?

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Definitely not John Edrich, my guess would be off spinner Pat Pocock

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Yeah, looking at it again it must be Pocock. It looks like a spinner bowling to JH, that would be Inthikab Alam, the Pakistani legspinner, if it wasn't Alan Butcher sending down his slow left-armers (to get another Zim reference inaydee wrote:It does look like Pocock, agreed.Train Driver wrote:Definitely not John Edrich, my guess would be off spinner Pat Pocock
