So we've finally got some clarity on where he stands. For a while he was somewhere in between, no foreseeable future with Zim, no interest from Ire.

I didn’t even know Ireland were playing Tests in SL and Ban. That’s good for them! Will be bloody tough though.

Remember almost none of their squad have played any red ball cricket since 2019 (they’ve cancelled their domestic first class comp every year since), so picking PJ makes sense as he’s been playing in Zim.

I sense he will have few friends in the Zim system once he actually plays for Ireland and we may not see him in our domestic cricket again.

They are supposed to be coming to Zim for a test match at the end of the year. That would be tasty. Probably won’t happen as usual though!

There was never in-between he was clear that he is done with Zimbabwe... Well he didnt have to go public but people who are close to him we knew.

He’s dead to me

He is a very good lad well i may be biased since he is my namesake But having known him since he was 16 and having a strong 'coach'/player relationship to becoming close buddies when he began his professional career he is a level headed guy ZC messed him up. It hurts seeing him go but sometimes you gotta do whats right for you and put your happiness first. We live in f***d up world so you better look after both your mental and financial health.

Its only a couple of years later after being exposed to new environments that i now discover how toxic ZC was but i heard things getting better which is a good sign. Well every bad experience teaches us something even though in a harsh way.
