Regis - So he is available?
Ronald Masocha - who?
Mutombodzi - where has he been?
Prince - Barely played a game this Logan Cup
Chatara - Surely he wouldn’t be risked in a longer format game?
Burl - surely he doesn’t need to prove himself in warm up game
Ngarava - see above
The rest are understandable selections for the warmup game

Why everyone forget Jonathan Campbelljaybro wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 8:05 amThe team for the warm-up game might be something like this -
Manuze
Gumbie
Curran
Shumba
Munyonga
Madhevere
Marumani wk
Tiripano
Faraz Akram
Chivanga
Mufudza
With Masuku from Tuskers seemingly MIA and the likes of Mumba injured, I can’t really see or think of many other bowling options.
Just shows that’s definitely an area where Zimbabwe need to unearth some talent. The Rhinos are still rolling out Chingwara & Chinyoa who are mid 30s.

If there is ever an award for the most uninspiring development team selection in history, this should win hands down.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 11:59 amZimbabwe XI squad, official:

I have actually been meaning to ask if Curran has sorted his Zim passport yet? Did he have one? Coz I'm surprised he didn't make the tour match. He ain't doing too bad
Munyonga is actually 4th on the Logan Cup leaderboard so I'm keen to see how he goes. Will be interesting to see how Gumbie and Tsiga do as well. Maruma is averaging 70 so I'm not surprised. Tiripano I guess adds some good experience. Chesa also deserves a go. He has done really well this season. It will be a good experience for these guys.
Maybe Houghton decided he doesn't want to give away too much to the West Indians. Rather catch them cold.

Re: Text XI - Windies series
Such a pity it wasn't like yesteryear where there were a few warm up games and players had time to do the tourist thing. A lot has been taken from the game with these whirlwind tours. Hopefully they mix it up against County sides that come here as well.
Re: Text XI - Windies series
I’m guessing none of these players will make the test squad, looks like an A team to me.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 11:59 amZimbabwe XI squad, official:

Seems like Wes, Shumba and Munyonga won’t make the test squad then. Hopefully they all put up a performance in the warm up game.
No idea how Mumba made this squad when he hasn’t played for a while, I thought he was still injured.
