Yes, "Goofy" Lawrence is the man, one of a select group of Rhodesian players who played Tests for SA. It's curious that his name does not often pop up when great Zim/Rhodesian players of the past are discussed. 342 FC wickets at an average of under 18, and the small matter of 28 Test wickets from only 5 matches, Ave 18.28 (albeit against NZ who were not a strong side then) should put him among the finest pace bowlers ever produced north of the Limpopo, even if he moved south towards the end of his career. And at 6' 5'' he was one of the tallest as well.
