I always like imagining an unbiased selection of a combined team. The only Zim players you'd readily include in the Bangladeshi side are Williams and Muzarabani. Bennett is possibly thereabouts. We've got a long way to go still. Our current front 3 are new to this and who knows how they'll pan out. I still hold out hope for Madhevere simply because we have to and he is talented.

Actually another guy you could potentially put in the all-rounder category is Dion Myers. Plenty of ability with the bat, despite what I believe to be some technical issues that he can fix. He's a decent bowler with a career ending action, but if he decided this was his role and prepared physically he is an option. Plenty of ifs and buts but if those front 3 do reasonably well and Knackers and BT enter the fray it's a possible option for him. Things will change dramatically when the Big 4 (including BT here) retire but as it stands it's tough to get into the test team.

Bennett and Williams definitely get in. I'm definitely biased, but my issue with Blessing is that while he's nearly unplayable in helpful conditions, he's too ineffective in tracks like this one where there isn't much in it for the seamers. Thats too much of a spread, imo. I'm thinking of the BD-ZIM Test in Harare in 2021 or 2022 where Taskin scored 75 so you know its a flat track, but then he also ran through the middle order. Ebadot as well when he ran through NZ on a flat deck in Mt Manganui.

Combined BD-ZIM XI:

Bennett
Tanzid Tamim
Mominul
Shanto
Williams
Liton
Jaker
Mehidy
Taijul/Ebadot
Taskin
Nahid

That's a helluva shot from Bennett. He's got a huge future.
