[Series Thread] Zimbabwe XI in Netherlands
Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe XI in Netherlands
Selecting Williams is almost becoming a liability because of his injuries.

it is such a shame as he is the most talented of the crop we have but given the fact he has been ducking out of the side and flirting with south africa over the last few years if he was fully fit all the time he would have probably done a judas turn on us.

With the unfortunate injury to Williams, that´s the end of the match, the Netherlands winning by 58 runs.
Due allowance must be made, of course, for the fact that the conditions were unfamiliar to the Zimbabwean side, and batting was never easy. But a win is a win, and the Dutch bowled well, and fielded even better. Barresi´s catch to dismiss Coventry was first-rate, and Cooper´s off Waller was one of the best I´ve ever seen.So now it´s on to the Intercontinental Cup, starting here on Sunday. J.

That's really a pretty feeble effort with the bat, to be honest. Really need some of the batsman in this side, all of whom are either in, or on the fringes of the national side, to put their hands up and play some long innings.

Ervine a muppet ?? Mate I know you're not a huge fan of him but no there's absolutly no need for that !Zimfanatic69 wrote:Really poor performance so far.
Who is this Craig Ervine muppet ?
At least Matsi anchored the innings. If Vusi had stuck with him it would have been different.
A poor poor performance today from the guys, Williams again sustains another injury ! What a shame, he's o talented and gifted, will he ever play for Zimbabwe again do we think.....

Yeah, let's make excuses for incompetence.

This is pathetic, no excuses, no explanations are necessary. It's simply pathetic, embarrassing. We're supposed to be a Test nation, closer to WI rather than Bangladesh. These guys are supposed to be knocking at door, our Test timetable partly depends on their performances and they can't beat Associate nations? Let's hope they redeem themselves when they play the Intercontinental Cup. Why didn't they come earlier, play warm up matches and acclimatize? These matches are important.
