One nameless cricketer just phoned one of the “selectors” to politely enquire why he’d been omitted and was told “you need to learn respect!” and had the phone put down on him. Backs up what I’ve just said.
The new boys are on a power trip with the big boss’s blessing.

the power matrix at ZC is just something else. one would have been tempted to think that after the suspension and the appointment of hammy as DoC, a new chapter would have began, but alas.. we learn nothing and forget nothing. i have actually lost interest to stream the match.

It definitely is a power thing. They don't like noise makers. They will put you in the naughty corner faster than you can think. As I said Raza knew what to do. Burl should have at least played a game. He came back too late. Also any noise makers should keep quiet and wait for the first test. If they fail you will get a call up . If they do ok you can still go to Bangladesh. There is a lot of cricket this year. No need to throw a fit just yet because they can bin you for the rest of the year. So unless you can get a kolpak before brexit just now its better to keep quiet.

Personally the only swap I would make would be Burl for Maruma. The rest of the guys deserve a chance. Then again Maruma has played 103FC games.still I wouldn't have picked him for test cricket.

Have been following Sean Joshua Bell on Twitter lately.. if you go through his tweets, he sort of hints that some of the guys (either Burl or Moor) had no contracts with ZC thats why they sort of skipped the series..

Having said that, i think we missed a trick by not picking PJ Moor in my opinion.. that guy brings a lot more stability to our frail middle order and can alternate between counter attacking or defensive.. me thinks his game is more suited to the long formats. Me thinks Sean wasnt overly happy with these omissions if he still sits in the selection meetings, i dont think its the team he wanted. I would have loved to hear how Dave Mutendera et al came to the conclusions of the selected XV and the criteria. If we lose the first test (which we are bound to anyways), there might be forced changes. but lets wait and see.
If you don't have a contract with ZC then they don't pick you then what exactly are you complaining about? I'm a bit confused there.

From memory one decent score and three failures.

Basically the same consistent batting pattern every Zimbabwean batsman in the history of cricket (that isn’t named after fauna) has followed.
Cricinfo profile of the 'James Bond' of cricket:

Going off his twitter paragraph, I assume Burl is the chap you’re referring to. Rightly so, as well. Being flown back early to be selected in the squad is absolutely terrible from Zimbabwe Cricket.
Can somebody remind of the new selection panel? Maruma being included over Moor and Burl is an absolute joke. Has he ever performed when playing international cricket?
