I would not replace any one but the captain. Was poor in terms of tactics.

The captain is one of the few players performing. 3 fifties in 7 innings. He could improve on his performance, for sure, but who are you going to put in?

I don't think he wants to drop the player himself - that would be foolish! He means strip him of captaincy, and his batting stats are irrelevant to the obvious need to rid ourselves of such a ridiculous captain!

No, I knew he was talking captaincy. A you that seriously a Mike B fan? We should have a captain averaging in the teens as long as he makes pretty tactical moves?

We are not going to know who will succeed unless we throw someone in.
It is up to the selectors and whoever is close to the management to make that decision.
But certainly Taylor has got to go.

The team has not played fearlessly as he had promised neither have they won anything with their tentative approach.

Harare, February 21, 2012- The Zimbabwe Cricket Union will this week begin its inquest into the national cricket team’s poor show in New Zealand where they suffered a triple whitewash defeat in all formats of the game; amid fears senior players could lose contracts.

The tour was the last as the season comes to an end with all contracts also expiring and the ZC is set to come up with a new list for next season’s central contracts for selected players.

Chairman of the Cricket Committee, Alistair Campbell, confirmed that they will ask of the players and coaches about the debacle.

“We will ask of the players what went wrong and we also ask of the coaches why we lost in the manner that we did,” said Campbell.

“We expect senior players to perform better than what they did and we feel they let us down. They are the ones who should lead the younger players but except for Brendan Taylor, they didn’t perform well,” added Campbell.

Senior batsman suffered a shocking loss of form which saw Zimbabwe consigned to heavy defeats in both the Test and the 50-over format.

Zimbabwe lost 20 wickets in a single day as they went on to lose by an innings and 301 runs with only Regis Chakabva managing a half century.

Opening batsman Hamilton Masakadza, Elton Chigumbura and Tatenda Taibu, among others may face the music.

Sports minister David Coltart is among those to show their displeasure at the team’s performance in New Zealand.

The team returned home on Thursday evening and a review of the whole series and the season is set to commence.

Zimbabwe will play South Africa in their next assignment where they will play a five-match T-20 series before with the next Test match set for August against Bangladesh.

Of course senior players underperfomed! But Ali is sick in the head! Those silly coaches are the ones who messed up! What possessed them to ask Hami to open, when he was off form before they even got on the plane? They gave Mutizwa a debut at number 3, in foreign conditions? Hami got himself back in form towards the end.

People who need to be fired are coaches, period! And strip Taylor of his captaincy! For all his time Taylor spent in NZ ahead of the tour, it came to nothing in the Test!

There is plenty of uncertainty. We've finally got a captain worth his place in the team - no mean achievement for Zim, Chigs, anyone? Taylor can improve his captaincy. Aside from Hhm's crazed scheme to draft in a Lee Germon, which of the players in the team would you put up for the job?
