Except they are first class runs and we never play tests.

Also he takes the same position as Burl and Raza etc so you have to drop one of them.

This is what everyone has been crying for. Someone other than the usuals to score two centuries in a season

Should be enough to get him on the plane to Bangladesh in April.

That’s always my argument for not giving him a shot. No doubting Jono’s skills at all, fact is though he’s competing with established guys for a position in the middle order.

It’s almost a situation where they have to do something exceptionally bad and get dropped or the big three retire before Jono will get his chance.

Well Raza won’t be available for the Bangladesh Tests (if they even happen. I am doubtful). So that could be an opportunity.

April is some way off yet though. Will need to maintain form for another 3 months!

Not necessarily.
Lest pretend Williams is playing (there was rumour that he retired from tests) then you go with:

1. Kaia
2. (Vacant)
3. Ervine
4. Williams
5. Raza
6. Campbell
7. Burl
8. Madande (wk)
9. Evans
10.Blessing
11. Richie

I think Raza has 6 months of franchise cricket straight. I doubt he will play any tests. I suspect he will only be pitch for T20s during that period. They clearly have a good relationship and nobody doubts his commitment.

Burl hasn’t played a FC game in a year. I doubt he has played more than 10 in the 2020s. He actually might have the ability but might not be a better pick as it stands. He will probably miss most of the FC season because he has T20 commitments in Jan and Feb as well I think
