Hopefully Tawada enjoys his stay in Ireland ....
In county news still no match for KJ I wonder if he doesn't make the first XI at all this year will look back and think he made the wrong choice especially since he will miss out on the Aussie and saffer tours plus the WC .....

Tapiwa Mufudza will play for my club Cookham dean, in Berkshire
Hopefully his performances are as consistent as they were for the Mountaineers this season!

He can always come back at the end of the county season if he doesn't get any PT. He'd be able to catch the AUS, SA tours, and would definitely be able to catch the tour to BD and the world cup.jaybro wrote:Hopefully Tawada enjoys his stay in Ireland ....

You had Mamhiyo last year, right? Thoughts on him?leybbm wrote:Tapiwa Mufudza will play for my club Cookham dean, in Berkshire

Excellent. Did well on the pitch and fitted in very well off it, and a good role model for young players
It seems that Tapiwa is a more accomplished bowler at first-class level, although unlikely to be so good with the bat or in the field
Anyone have any suggestions on what to expect?

I would agree with that assessment, I would imagine he could hold his own at number 6 as he has shown he has application with the bat, his bowling is his main suit though and he seems a good all round signing.leybbm wrote:Excellent. Keep us updated with his progress

Yeah, he's a much more accomplished bowler. Mamhiyo is no more than a fill in at first class level. Mufudza has, on occasion, been a match winner for the Mountaineers, although he might not quite make their strongest attack - Masakadza, Tiripano, Chatara, Mushangwe.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mufudza is competing with Munyede for the national team spinner role this time next year. So, not a bad pick at all. Would help in the kid's development.
Expected nothing less about Mamhiyo, he seems to come across as someone with a very good work ethic.

Mamhiyo has good application but seems to be "left behind" his bowling lacks strategy and his batting at times is very erratic and at other times very mature.
I think from a lack of coaching/guidance perhaps he seems to still be in u19mode. Certainly plenty of potential and if "guided" properly can be a solid dependable batter. His focus is good and very popular with coaching the younger players.
