Apparently Liam wanted to try for South Africa but didn't get in and now Zim are saying he will have to wait.
Well yes we know. But beggars can’t be choosers.

There are several others that should have been selected but they go to the wrong school and/or haven’t paid the bribe.
It’s just dumb by Zim.
Making teenagers choose a country before the frontal lobe is even formed lol.

Apart from Muyeye, who is really the last junior close to trying to represent another country.

Young Makoni has been in the spotlight as well. I cant get to the bottom of what his stats really are, but as a fact he's not close to being the worst player in that squad. Some posts are saying he averages 38 and others are saying 5?

Both can’t be correct. What posts are saying he averages 38?

For me this is good. There is literally no excuse for failure. I would never want our team to fail so I can only hope Elton is correct. They have tried his formula. Let's see. If it fails then he must be held accountable.

The one thing maybe people can't see yet is that even though it's not always on point, public scrutiny is good in the long term. The very obvious question which will inevitably need an answer whether they like it or not is... How does the election process work and how can one contest. It's coming. Everything must stay in the public eye because the days of secret elections will be over

He has a career average of 8 across all cricket played in Zimbabwe.

Zolsky/Jonty’s manufactured statistics in the spreadsheet, from games that don’t seem to have existed for any other player, magically claim he averages 38 or whatever.

It a just bullshit. They should be ashamed.

Maybe he was playing by himself and that’s his cumulative average for all 11 knocks in the innings

Problem with ZC is when they come up with some formulas. They become so persistent of repeating those same formulas again and again just to hope things will work out. But it just becomes more or less preditable for the opposition.
When they've managed to work it out 1/10 or 1/15 games, they give you "We told you so" energy.
Even with the failures, they will come up with exucuses. Rather than taking much of accountability. "Yeah we've faced some tough lads, who has FC, List A or even little international experience
Atleast this batch did have better preparation compared to previous bathces. Every U19 batch needs to play more againts every province teams every season for the preparation. I think that's one of those bare minimum for the U19 WC preparation.
Honestly I feel bad for those kids getting all the critisism because of ZC being ZC.

In all honesty... the base point around focussing development opportunities on those who want to be professional cricketers is a good one; or more pertinently not "wasting" resource on anyone who has already decided that they will prioritise other avenues ahead of their cricket career. IF that is even the case.

Sadly, the sort of call no other full member nation has to make. Goes without saying that anyone capable of playing international U19 cricket is prioritising a cricket career! That isn't the case in Zim, which is incredibly sad and detrimental to the game at senior level.

As ever with ZC, the silence, and lack of explanation, is unprofessional and makes their decision making look worse as there is no view of the rationale behind it.

Those boys who have been in India, for example. In a lot of ways, this is a development initiative they should be shouting about. Look at the opportunities we are providing for some of the best boys in our system to improve! There should be transparency around what that programme is, how the individuals were selected and the costs. There isn't. Therefore it comes across as shady, and another reason for some people to stick the boot in.
