Chivanga went of injured.

Looks like it is Nyauchi, Evans and Ngarvara for the 1st test.

Without Burl, Raza or Williams we don't have a spin allrounder, perhaps this opens the door for Wesley?
Shame, I'd have Chivanga in the test squad. Chivanga could have added something a bit different and his First Class record is very good. He'd be better in a Test than a T20I like we've seen.

Burl and Raza coming back for the first test aren't they? Possibility that Raza will miss the 2nd for the start of the PSL if ZC let him.

But its a good point. The way Queens has played recently I'd definitely want a few spin options in the XI.

Massive disappointment if Raza is missing both. I suppose when you only play a test every 18 months or so you might as well retire from them and cash in on the more frequent formats. I don’t blame him really but it’s very sad. He’s a great red ball player.

Burl just hit 26 runs in an over.

Against a left arm spinner of course

Would be a real shame if Zimbabwe is going down the line that they’ll let players off from playing tests to play franchise t20 cricket.

Why does it always seem Zimbabwe can never field a full strength Test XI, always missing a few good players at least.

If Burl & Raza aren’t available, and Williams is unfit for nich is pretty much confirmed, what will the batting lineup look like?

Also ruling out guys such as Curran & Moor whose availability is also unconfirmed, we’re looking paper thin.

Kaia
Manuze
Chamu
Ervine c
Ballance
Wes/ Shumba
Madande wk
Wellington
Mavuta
Evans/ Nyauchi
Ngarava

I must say, I have zero confidence of that XI causing the Windies any trouble at all. I did hope that with a full strength side, Zimbabwe were a good chance of a historic first ever Test win over the Caribbean kings.

Williams and Ervine are always injured as has been mentioned earlier. Had they played for England or India, they would still fail to play 5 Tests or 15 ODIs in a year due to being as injury prone as Shane Bond.

Then guys like Taylor, Cremer, et al always has an issue with the board. This is why it’s so rare for Zimbabwe to field a full strength XI in a Test.

That batting lineup looks like it could bowled out twice in a day on paper.

However, we have often seen Zimbabwe put up quite a bit of fight when you least expect it.
