The Rhinos would like to deepen an already solid batting line-up by bringing another of the Rocks over.

Trevor Garwe has been a solid FC perfomer with the ball along with a very good prospect down the order.

Being one of the few Zimbabweans with multiple T20 hauls, we expect Trevor to cut through some opposing batting orders in the shortest format as well.

While we would stick to the traditional Emarald Green of the Mountaineers, we would also like to showcase a bit of Indo-German flavor to signify the owners - thus bringing in the colors of Orange, Red, Black and Yellow.

So, here goes the home kit for the upcoming season - without the sponsors on it yet, but we will announce them as they hop on the bandwagon.

A goat from the Mutare flag and the Mountaineers logo complete the picture. Away kit design coming soon, and any suggestions on the kits welcome :)

As Jemisi said, some sort of combination between recent form and career form... and then a way so each franchise owner can select an XI and a match "happens".
There is a few different simulators you can use for cricket matches. I run a Zimbabwe Premier League on another forum. I was tempted to start it over here, but I couldn't work out how to get code boxes to place commentary and scorecards in. :(

So I can help when it's time to have matches with the teams. :)
What sort of control do you have over the player attributes in the existing simulators?
Would it be possible to factor in recent form, overall career form and "simulated" form all at once?

If there's something out there which already does this there's no point re-inventing the wheel; but on the other hand if we come up with some good ideas for a simulated game which no solution currently addresses it might be a good opportunity to make something new as well.

Not bad Crimson. If only I was any good at photoshop then I could work on something too.

I usually base my ratings on recent form in the latest domestic season or International matches. Statistics on cricinfo are useful for that. I previously rated them based on overall career, but the role of players often change for Zimbabwe cricketers, so I changed to form instead. :)

I could use my domestic ratings system, devised last season, and work with this season's results. Every owner would have to pick an XI for the Logan Cup and the Pro50, designate, say, six batsmen and five bowlers, and then we could calculate an average rating for each team in each competition to see who comes out tops. It's a bit complicated, though, and would take some time ... Any more straightforward ideas?
The ratings mean something but so do other stats. Form from this season should not be weighted too heavily. Muzarabani has had a great year on form, but his previous seasons are not as good and that needs to be taken into account as well. Over his career he is a fair way off 3 wickets per game, which is a decent measure for working out whether a bowler is pulling his weight.
Also the sample size for some players is way too small.

The simulator thing sounds cool, if someone can get it up and running.

Just showed our kit to my wife, who knows a hundred times more about fashion and design than I do, and she gives it a big thumbs-up, Crimson. Very nice! :D

Tuskers were impressed at the grit he showed in his unbeaten 90 in the Rocks last Logan Cup match and would like to offer Charles Kunje a chance to continue FC career

That concludes the penultimate round of the draft. Only Eagles can potentially pick a national team player which means either Utseya or Chamu will miss out ... or both. There hasn't been any love for old forum favourite Keith Dabengwa either.
