Yes, got my head buried under a heap of work ... and I don't have a clue.

Or, let's say I'd like to present other forumites with the golden opportunity to play catch-up :D

That was a trick question too, and a clue for others to attempt this. Didn't realize it would become a clue for you as well...

The line above is also a huge clue :)

I've no idea what you are talking about, Crimson ... bit dazed and confused here. The last line was just tongue in cheek, I really had not clue.

But wait ... are you telling me that this is a photo of Peter Werner Leslie Geach???

Well, yes! Second guy from Hatfield Sports Club to be capped by Rhodesia :)

Some stories and the photo are from here: http://www.angelfire.com/art2/rhodesia/hatfield.html

Now, how did I know it was Geach even though the article does not specifically point out that fact?

You're too clever for me today, Crimson.

Interesting article that, and in that photo Peter Geach looks like your typical underdog straight out of a seventies' movie.

Indeed he looks like that!

Just save / download his image from that site and you would have the answer :)

As a hunch guess: crest for Sunrise Sports Club? Used to play in the Harare league / Vigne Cup, although not sure if they still do or not...

HSC emblem. SSC is Salisbury Sports Club as it was when it opened. The latin translates as "I hope for light".

Your guess is correct. The cricket ground is still in operation and looks in good shape. Sunrise had a team in last year's Harare friendlies League. I reckon Sunrise is still a mainly Indian (Hindu) club whereas Universal caters for the subcontinental Muslim community?

Here's a photo of the ground:

The refurbished indoor hockey arena also looks nice: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sunrise- ... 5622422249
