I wouldn't say Jongwe is like Sibanda. Sibanda looked sublime...Jongwe just looks awkward. On the other hand, I don't think Sibanda won too many games for his side.

The best comparison, like for like as well, would be Jongwe to Chigumbura. Both over-rated, both similar type of player. But Elton was a far better batter and at least on par with the ball.
You know looking at some of the players we have right now Elton's stats don't look too bad. Most of the new guys are not averaging 25. Elton scored 2 centuries too. Evans, Burl and Jongwe would do well to match his stats. Shows how much we are struggling. It's just that we had Hami, BT, Williams,Raza and Ervine so we didn't really appreciate Elton. 140 strike rate in T20s too.

We also need to appreciate that at least Elton knew when to walk away. He is the same age as all our senior players but he retired years ago

Very hard to disagree with kriterion logic here.

How confident is anyone when Jongwe goes out to bat he will get a 50?
I consider him a depth player.

Elton at his prime was handy. But he went downhill and hit the wall 5 years before he retired.

If you get offered a stress-free job for life at ZC you grab the opportunity. Year round, you don't have to wait for your salary and it matters not how much the team gets beaten by. You join the elite family retirement club. Jarvis is the best example. He is well compensated for never having to do a single thing. At least Elton gets to work for 15 minutes a year to pick the best players from the club circuit to make up what should theoretically be an unbeatable "academy" side. I'll bet there are quite a few others tucked away that do absolutely nothing from day to day. Unemployable in the real world. There's at least 20k a month that could go towards actual players who resort to drink and drugs because they can't make ends meet.

The one lesson I think I have learnt is that Bennet is actually not that far off from Madande, Shumba and Marumani.

I agree, I really like Bennett. He has a lot of potential.

Bats calmly as well, not a wild swinger like the three you mentioned.

A good example of this was the free hit where he didn't charge down the wicket and waft. He played a proper cricket shot a lofted on drive which got him a 4.

Still early days in his career but glad he has had this experience against Glamorgan, it will do him wonders.

Marumani can pinch hit better than anyone in our system. He's work in progress, but in domestic he is exceptional at it. Whether he can eventually take that into international cricket remains to be seen. The way he's going now he'll do enuf in domestic to get a shot, possibly fail to convert, cool his heels in domestic, get another shot etc etc.
Basically the same as most of our players, they're nearly all struggling at the higher level.

Then we get guys like Byrom and Carlson that have done well at a higher level struggling at our domestic level?
It's bloody confusing

Nice to see him given an opportunity to bat at 4
