Nothing sheepish about Lamb as Eagles record a six wicket win.
A 176 run partnership between Captain Greg Lamb and Forster Mutizwa steered
the Mash Eagles to a six wicket win over the Mountaineers on the final day
of the four day Logan Cup match at Mutare Sports Club.
The fifth wicket stand between Lamb and Mutizwa comprised of 23 boundaries
and a six off 213 balls.
The unbroken partnership displayed an excellent show of low risk straight
drives and thundering shots in the covers with occasional blows in the long
on and long off areas. National team batsman Mutizwa came in with his side
precariously placed after Njabulo Ncube induced the edges of Cephas Zhuwao
and Samuel Mwakayeni. Mutizwa's unbeaten 90 came off 131 balls and included
13 boundaries as he mixed impressive stroke making with aggressive running
between the wicket.
Skipper Greg Lamb followed up his first innings score of 66 with a polished
77 not out off 110 balls which included ten fours and one six.
The win maintains the Eagles top position on the Logan Cup log table and
marks the Mountaineers second defeat in the cup.

Lamb actually scored 85 in his 1st innings. Great performance from him. A Zimbabwe "A" position surely beacons for him now. As for a national team place? I dont know from me he has to prove himself in the Zim "A" side first. Top marks Foster as well. All the same good all round performance from the Eagles. I hope they can emulate thier performance and play well in the One day game to complete the double over Mountaineers.Skipper Greg Lamb followed up his first innings score of 66 with a polished

Way to go Eagles!
