I'd go for Mpofu ahead of Panyangara atm.

On top of that I think his action is suspect
Nah his action is fine and has been assessed here in Harare. His arm has a natural deviation.
Nice to see Jongwe in the side. He will develop into a good prospect.
Mpofu doing well from his old injured self.
Prosper will probably get the bullet after the inquiry. Having said that, his bowling figures have been pretty good- so who knows.
As usual i predict a win over NZ.

Whatmore demands more from his charges

Zimbabwe are likely to experiment with Craig Ervine batting at number three and Vusi Sibanda in the lower middle order as they search for runs
I thought generally one of your best bats goes at 3. I would love to be proved wrong but I dont see craig passing 15 runs.

He may not, but I think he is worth a go up the order with a clearer role. He is not a hitter but is often left in impossible situations.

I like the idea of Ervine up the order, gives him time to get settled.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

Ervine at 3 is at least worth a try, particularly if Zimbabwe are already down 2-0 in the series. I'd like to see Raza persisted with in the middle order. Even though he didn't have a good series with the bat against India, I think he would go well down the order and hitting big towards the end of the innings now that Chigs has moved up to 4. Regis I'm not so sure about. He's not a particularly aggressive batsmen, but I don't think he's really up to batting at No 3 either. I think it's 7 or nothing without high expectations.

Chamu
Hammi
Ervine
Chigs
Williams
Raza
Regis
Cremer
Madziva
Pany?
Nyumubu

I would have liked to see Tiripano persisted with. I don't think he played that badly against India. Pany and Mpofu bleed runs towards the end of the innings. Even if they aren't taking wickets, they need to be a lot more economical in the last 10 overs otherwise don't bowl them. I thought Cremer was ordinary in the ODIs and should come under pressure from Nyumbu to hold his place. Sibanda and Utseya should be mixing the drinks and cutting oranges and Jongwe should get a go if Pany/Mpofu/Madziva fail to perform.

The problem is consistency. We dont train players to play the roles they should. We send them in in any position and tell them all to do the same thing. Ervine could be a solid number 3 because of his style of game, but we need to give him the tools to do that role. Cricket is not the kind of sport where you can blanket teach, you need to dig a bit deeper. Dav knows that, if only the board did too.

Well said. We have been doing this forever and its frustrating sending Elty in at 7 to stablise the innings, sending Mire at 3 to 'play himself in first' if a person is a hitter let them hit the ball.

Totally agree. Ervine @3 or 4 is the way forward. He scored a hundred for the Tuskers batting there last season.

Anyone know of a good online radio stream for Zim games available internationally or if such a service even exists?
