Zimbos in the UK : Season 2015
Re: Zimbos in the UK : Season 2015
Apparently Birmingham and Lancashire leagues are strongest in the UK. Lots of good professionals play in them I think.

And what type of cricket are they playing? Just 50 overs?

Our club Cookham Dean CC in Berkshire, are planning to host a game between club XI and a Zimbabwe XI, on Bank Holiday Monday 25th May
Given the number of Zimbabweans in the local area, we're hoping to get a full side of Zimbabwean first-class players together. Hopefully should be a great day and a good chance for the boys to get together
All welcome, it would be great to see some members of this forum. Needless to say, bar open all day, and there'll also be a Zimbabwean braii

Sloandog...
I know you were interested in going to Zim and playing some FC cricket at one stage. I was wondering if that still interested you? I presume you are close to finishing uni now and was interested if you still had aspirations to play in Zimbabwe/for Zimbabwe.

Yea I went to turn my arm over in the Harare nets in 2011 and have a bat against some of the Eagles and Rhinos boys, watched by KC

I did pretty well considering I was only 17. I kept very well. Was never going to stick around though because I had other commitments in the UK, and I was starting Uni the year afterwards. I have a serious ambition to play FC cricket in Zim when I leave Birmingham Uni. I'm captain of the 1st team here and Vice Club Skipper. Doing a masters though so I'll be here another year yet.
I'm in no fit shape though. I've drank myself into oblivion

My FC chances were dealt a massive blow after I rolled my arm over at HSC last year.sloandog wrote:Hi mate.ZIMFAN wrote:Sloandog...

I can truthfully claim to have kept a national team batsman (with international centuries to his name!) to a 0.00 strike rate

But a franchise player of note (30+ average) would have had a Glenn Maxwell-esque strike rate and then a bit

I think with my personal FC ambitions now hanging by a mere thread, maybe I should just focus all my attention on #sloandogmania
