Quick reflexes by Regis at short leg but as he threw it back towards the stumps, it got stuck at one of the foot holes and did not hit the wickets straight, and got to Richie at an awkward height too. Just an unfortunate incident, although both the fielders were well in position.jaybro wrote:Error there by Richie Faf should have been run out …..

I just felt Richie over committed he should have just 'kept his cool' and waiting to see how the ball bounced, but we're talking a bout milli seconds here to react so I guess you're right it's hard to be critical. But against the likes of South Africa you have to take your half chances …..

Oh, I don't think there was much Mutumbami could have done. It was a pretty tough chance.
Pretty good match so far. I think we have to be realistic about our ability to steamroll the SA batting lineup (ie. it's unlikely) but if we can pick up one or two wickets a session while, importantly, keeping the run rate down it will ensure things don't get out of hand. I'd be pretty happy, all things considered, if we could have them 4/240 or thereabouts by stumps. We'd go into tomorrow with a razor thin lead and a fairly new ball, and possibly make some early inroads.

Whats the plan of attack after lunch ?? Do we continue with spin or go back to pace ??
It seems a waste that Chatara didn't get the new ball considering the pitch isn't offering anything to the seamers ….
Just watched the reply again if Richie keeps his gloves at the stumps Faf would have been out IMO …..

Absolutely loving how that other test match in Sri Lanka has progressed. Test cricket at its best, again. Lanka needs to push on for the victory now.
Coming back, we need to start with the pace-spin combo of Chatara Nyumbu here, and replace them with Panya and Williams later on.

We've done a good job so far, keeping things tight. Remember we didn't blast Pakistan away either, we just kept nagging away. Of course SA has a lot more class than Pak, but our best chance to hang in the match is to frustrate the batsmen into rash shots like the one that got the wicket and the one that nearly got Fav.brmtaylor.com admin wrote:Pretty good match so far. Time to get Williams off, he's leaking runs. I reckon it's time for H Masakadza to have a bowl, we need to keep things tight for a few overs and build some pressure.
It's very unusual that Chatara has only had the 3 overs so far.
