Perhaps his friends on Facebook were just humouring me. Do we have any word on Murray Goodwin ?? Is he staying or going ?? I knew it was too good to be true in regards to Sean Ervine. Yeah he's coming back to play domestically, but he's unable to play internationally. What use is thatto us ?? It's a real shame...a real shame
Sean Ervine returns to Zimbabwe along Goodwin and Mariller

Dont be to downhearted Sloandog, i think Sean Ervine is being very clever here by testing the water before he possibly commits to Zimbabwe. The fact that he will be in the system will mean he can see for himself the changes that have been made rather than giving everything that he has worked for at Hampshire only to then find out nothing has changed.sloandog wrote:So disapointed about the whole Sean Ervne situation![]()

Legally he cannot be released from his contract before it expires unless Hampshire agree which is very unlikely since they have spent a lot of money over the summer bringing in players like, Afradi, Mendis, Kabir Ali and Neil MaKenzie and have made it clear that they want to qualify for the T20 Champions league which is a big money spinner for county sides these days.
It think that we may see Sean back in action before the 2011 world cup.

I sure hope so, he's one of my favourite Zimbabwean Cricketers next to Greg Lamb. He'd be a wonderful asset to our current team.zimfan1 wrote:It think that we may see Sean back in action before the 2011 world cup.
Would anybody like to take a shot as to how this West Indies/Zimbabwe series will end up ?? I'll say (If we bat and bowl well) 3-2 to Zimbabwe. What with the likes of Sibanda, Masakadza and Taylor and co in form, there;s no reason why we can't produce an upset. (Especially when the Windies have a weakend squad)

Some clarity on Murray Goodwin muddle: http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/4886631 ... n_to_stay/
He is expected to stay there for the reminder of this season, as he hasn't heard much of late from ZC. Everything floating around is apparently speculation

I'm sure you would have posted it sooner rather than later. But how do you feel about the news anyway, being a Sussex and Zim supporter

As a Sussex supporter i'd be devastated to see Murray leave, the man is worth the annual membership fee all on his own.
He will, no doubt, retire from the day in day out grind within the next couple of years, will he want to play for Zim then ?, somehow i don't think so, i hope i'm wrong but i don't see him leaving Australia somehow.
If he was to play again for Zim i don't think he would commit himself unless a Test cricket return had been signed and sealed, even then he would have to convince his wife that it would be in hers and the childrens interests.
Personally i think he's been away from Zim for too long, and that's the way it will stay.
