How come u forget Chingumbura...He is the best player in Zimbabwe team now

I like Chingumbura being promoted in the next game..Let he bat at number 4 with either Taylor or Taibu dropping a place. Iam sure Chiggs can crumble the WI seam atttack

In the context of this series: he's not there. I think he's one to keep an eye on, though. Although as Vusi is showing us, good domestic form doesn't automatically equal good international form.
Maehara you have hit the nail on the head. Good international form does not automatically translate to international form. I’m gonna steal the thunder from you a bit. It is a very important fact but we should have known and said it before because it is also not a revelation: Graeme Hick, Ajay Ajeda and Martin van Jaarsveld are names that made tons in domestic cricket but couldn’t cut it in international cricket, and perhaps this is where the “ class comes into play”.

You need to have certain of it (though Hick had it) to survive in international cricket, which again undeniably Taylor does seem to have.

I don’t understand though why Hamilton Masakadza’s name has been included in Munyedesi’s list because, yes, he has made runs at domestic level but he’s also made runs at international level.

Curiously, on the only positive I have for Greg Lamb, he may just turn out to be useful bowler for the Twenty20s, if only the selectors would have the courage to drop Utseya and appoint a new captain.

Im 100% in agreement with you Conant not every player has the combined temperament and ability to suceed at international which the likes of Taylor, Williams, Masakadza, Taibu and Chigumbura have. Whilst the likes of Sibanda, Chibabha and Matsikenyeri have failed to show the temperament needed at international level despite there immense talent.

Oh and just a note to finish on, how well did Cremer bowl today, he is fastly maturing and was described by Tony Cosier and Michael Holding as a "world class leg spinner".

He has been amazing today and the series as a whole. I thought even his batting was decent.I must say him and Maruma have the ability to be very good all rounders.

Well as i said earlier, if we could take anything out of this match it would be pride. Well we certainly took some with us !! Good good bowling from Graeme Cremer. I'm really impressed with his flight and ability to spin the ball both ways. He's going to be a real handy asset in Zimbabwes future, for sure !! All the best for Sunday lads, especially with the bat

Just adding to the debate of failing batsmen, calss, etc.: Let us not forget Sibanda was run out twice in 4 matches, scored a match winning 95 in the first, and he was out bowled early in the third. I would like to consider that as one failure or at max two. Clearly, the run out in the second match was Masakadza's mistake. I'm more inclined to giving Sibanda more chances, because, he is well and truly a man who rides on form. When on song, he is the man to watch. In that context, the run outs came at very wrong times.

Apart from that, I believe these are the best batsmen we have at the moment, all by a long way:

Best talent: Taibu
Best class: Willaims
Best authoritative batsman: Hamilton Masakadza
Most improved batsman: Elton Chigumbura

Problem here is temperament. None of these seem to have that to the level that is needed, and in case of others in contention, it is even less. Number of soft dismissals is ample testimony to that. Zimbabwean batting would have to revolve around the above 4, Sibanda, Mutizwa and Taylor at this point of time. Another wildcard here is Andy Blignaut, whose temperament was mighty impressive in that last Tuskers match against the Desert Vipers, when everyone else was falling like a pack of cards. He might well have become a better judge of shot making with maturing age. Hoping for his inclusion soon...

The main problem is that there is not a single left hander in the side
