hhm wrote: It's not meant to be evidence. It merely serves to corroborate the fact that as with now, the young Matsi was spectacularly capable at his best - equally or more than a lot of people that most seek to significantly elevate above him! You forget that at various times, even when the likes of Hami, Taibu, Vusi, Williams, Taylor, Vermeulen & Ebrahim were gelling as young players during the trouble periods - Matsi despite being inconsistent like Vusi then, had higher stocks in the class column! Did people suddenly suffer some form of amnesia or has 'hatred' for a man who did nothing to you amounted to him being useless and eroded all that brilliance he showed at various times!
No body is amnesic here. I doubt when you say even in his younger days he was spectacular. He was nothing better than Muleleki Nkala, who also played a few good innings under pressure but that doesnot amount to class. He was never better than late Madondo and you are fighting his case at lengths as if he is a Craig Wishart (dubbed the next Houghton but never quite lived to this reputation). Even Wishy was way ahead than Matsi. Forget his 170 plus in world cup he hit a 100 to shock Indians in an ODI at harare and played vital innings in various tests. The bashing is justified, he is not even close to Carlisle. So many people cant be at fault hhm, the problem lies only with you. Understand it and make our lives more easier plz

comparing harris and adams isnt a good analogy you guys have been saying.

in the late 90s, the peak of both the players, harris was in a weakish kiwi team but adams a strong african side.

swap them round and see what happens HHM

Were entitled to our own views, but if anyone finds themself going beyond 10 there's something wrong with you! I agree about Chibhabha. Just like Craig, he shouldn't have fallen this far off the radar!

Yes Bayhaus, Chiliboy should've been leading the Blue Bulls! Even Spies's kin agree. Besides being a poor #8, Spies was never captain material! I'll take Ashley Johnson or Willem Alberts at #8 for the Boks any day! Preferrably Johnson - I'm a Cheetah!

betterdays, I know what you mean, but Merchant had just taken 8 wickets in a debut Test match! How do you drop such a player? Remember, Morne was coming off a 'poor' home Test series against Australia. After Morne had failed relatively failed in that Test match and the previous one, he should have been the one to go. The final Test match against SL vindicates what I mean! What they actually wanted was for Philander to remain out of the team because they didn't want to bring themselves to drop Morne. If Morne Morkel read 'Lonwabo Tsotsobe' he would've been shipped out in a heart-beat!

As for trying to convince eugene that Paul Adams was poorly treated in comparison to his inferior namesake Paul Harris, spare your efforts! In fact I wouldn't be surprised if eugene was happy to see the 'vastly superior' Boje take over!

NB: ZIMFAN, that's actually a familiar phrase. I have, and continue to hear, plenty of certain people say that, up until circa 1990, Zimbabwe and South Africa were actually more interesting and exciting. I wonder why? Having left to Aus, Can, America, UK etc, they rarely visit those places anymore! Do enlighten me boet, how much more refreshing was the ZCF? That may inspire me and 'few' deprived new members to delve into the archives from time to time.......

Also Harris could bat Adams couldnt.

and Boje?

Doesnt he have a bit of moolie in him?

i can think of at least one time hes been referred to as a coloured.

hard to tell with him. on one hand he looks like paul adams in the face, who is half a black guy and on the other hand he looks just like cronje too who is white

I'm never quite sure with you dawg - but you know we're refering to Harris the zim born saffer, right?

but i like your line of thinking ... though i'm not sure the Warne fanatics would agree when confronted with the better team argument by the Murali fans {yeah, different topic]

what a tragedy that was ... i know he only played the 3 tests but he looked like someone who could take wickets effortlessly ...

Zondeki was also plagued with injuries i believe ... why so many injuries??

He likes Baldilocks! Can't blame him, I love the guy too! How could he possibly remember Paul Harris, when they shipped off similar Hauritz out of nowhere, and ZIMDOGGY has long forgotten he even existed! (By the way, the Proteas are not an African side, they're a South African side! Haven't you heard some people's thinking here - 'it's us and rest of Africa' - some wish they were an island like Australia!)

To a lesser extent yes, but Zondeki wasn't plagued by injuries per se, he would've been good enough for Zim but not SA if you know what I mean!

Ngam was a huge tragedy! After they couldn't get rid of Ntini through rape charges(ala Mike), they weren't about to let it happen again so the doctors sabotaged young Mfuneko!

Ngam suffered from a lot of stress fractures right? Those would be impossible for Doctors to concoct in some sort of Boer conspiracy.

Nah it sounds legit...

Why else would someone like Ngam get spinal stress fractures but someone like Jarvis not?

oh wait.
