Good to see Nick Welch back in the runs. He needs more good innings to really make a case for selection. Mathew Welch's keeping was very ordinary in the Rhinos game.

That number three spot I think is the most up for grape in the national team I reckon.

It’s what every batter should be trying to bat at in domestic.

What a good innings by Overlord. Where did that come from? Some amazing shots. Absolutely rank bowling though.
If Mountaineers have any chance of doing well in this comp they need to stay with Gumbie over Chiorah.
I'd be tempted to swap Masekesa for Mike Frost. Vinnie's bowling has been fairly ordinary. I don't know how he keeps hanging around, he's a good player and gets treated abominably.
MW needs to bat ahead of Ali F in T20. Much better striker.
He doesnt keep enuf to be able to sharpen his skills, a bit untidy but makes up for it with some extraordinary takes down leg, and some clever throws onto the stumps.
If you keep a few times a season its not easy, he could easily be our best keeper.
Really good innings from NW, again radio silence from ZC social media. What a biased system this is.
That was a blinder of a catch he took as well.

Mudzinganyama batted really nicely.
Top innings from Mafundauya. He and Bully surprisingly beat Rhinos quite comfortably. Strange old game. Just shows how critical that power play is.

The reality is that the only batters that should be penned into that T20 national side are Bennett, Burl and Raza.
Maru is shaky but deserves some rope.
Myers, Munyonga, Madande and Musekiwa are nowhere, endless opportunites and they haven't taken them.
They're currently not good enuf for top level cricket. End of story. They've eaten up 18 months of opportunites for other players. Its wrong on every level.

Part of the problem is that those guys come back to domestic and actually look ok because theyve been playing and practicing at a higher level. Then the geniuses think theyre the best we've got when they aren't.

Curran putting a shift in as well. Not really shouting loud enough but he hasnt really done himself any harm. Gumbie with a once in a life time score yet again much like that 200 in india. Doubt if he will repeat the same but he really looked good there. I feel Jono has to be batting higher if he has serious ambitions of making the team again.

2nd Round announced for Monday... 3 days notice... All at Kwekwe this time.

I guess the good thing is that it's a double round robin this year, I think for the first time ever? We've been calling for an increase in T20 cricket (without compromising other formats), so credit where it is due.

Rubbish first game this morning.

Very sluggish pitch after the rain, just aiding finger spin a lot. Only real performance of note was a decent 50 for Myers, which was nice to see.
