Chigumbura should be man of the match now. He just made a breakthrough, bowled Hughes for 32. :W:

19 overs to go and 52 runs required, but with Warner at the crease that could take all of about 15 minutes. I think the game has slipped past Zimbabwe now, a couple of overs of bowling a leg stump line with 9 fielders on the leg side could make things interesting though! :P

It's Hughes  Full marks to the Openers and fighting Chigumbura, we only had positives in this tour match.

Good on Zimbabwe, Dissapointed with Ervine Junior. He must be feeling the heat at the moment, maybe Mutizwa in for the next match

Craig Ervine should be persisted with. He clealy has talent and class and will rise above this current patch of indifferent form. I think it would be a mistake to drop him with the test series so close - we don't want a repeat of the world cup debacle with Hamilton Masakadza.

I too think that Ervine is a special talent and dropping him won't do the team any good. The same can be said about Chakabva, but I just prefer Ervine to Chakabva because: (i) Ervine has a better first class records (ii) Ervine is a leftie (we don't have any in the team). If someone has to make way for Mutizwa in the next match it has to be Chakabva.

If think as an overview Zimbabwe did well to restrict a near test side to 439, Chigs and especially Vitori stood out for me. The batting is gelling, Sibanda Masacadza and chigumbura all had really good knocks, mawoyo too played his part though a test berth for him is uncertain. I would like Taylor to come in next match at the top which is unlucky for mawoyo but its Taylor the Number one Zim dude :D

Hopefully we will see what Jarvis and Shingi can do against this line up next match, i would go with this side

1 taylor
2 Sibanda
3 Masacadza
4 Mutizwa
5 Ervine
6 Waller ( need to see more of him)
7 Chigumbura
8 Shingi Masacadza
9 Ray Price
10 Kyle Jarvis
11 Chris Mpofu

I concur the feeling that Mutizwa deserves a look in and I also would like Waller to get another chance. There are a few Test spots left and backup slots are also available and so I understand the logic of mixing the line up a bit. It's the official test matches that will count towards our ranking and as much as I'd not like to admit it this is a practice run.
