Match Thread: 2nd ODI Zimbabwe v Ireland

Decent knock from kadza. Stood up when he’s been getting some stick on here. Fair play to the kid.

I wouldn't call it luck. The team was genuinely improving under Dave.zimbos_05 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 9:54 amIs it finally sinking in that we've been very lucky of late with some of our results, a la T20WC, Bang series etc. We really need a new batting coach and an overhaul of the coaching set up.
Just know that in a few years time the team will be coached by Prosper and Elton. Things are going to get much worse unless some serious change is made.
But the Scotland loss destroyed them and clearly the team isn't good enough to put it behind them. Dave Houghton is hanging on by a thread and the players either can't or won't step up to save him.

Raz dawg is so massively overhyped it’s unreal. Flukily carved and pulled his way to a few hundreds last winter and tonked associates all over. Goes missing consistently against real sides.
Promoted kadza to six at the qualifier then promoted himself to open in some dead rubbers to stat pad.
Batting first today is the last straw for me
Kadza and ponsonby can hold their heads up, rest of the batters need to sort their lives out.

Respectable knock from our Nr.6 batsmen Wallosky! Hope he shows them doubters how much of an asset he is to the team!
The higher you go the cooler it becomes.

It's more about selection imo , they are a rabble at the moment. Identify prospects who they think could become long term players and give them a decent opportunity. Not the ones who have failed time and time again and don't improve. Play 4 specialist bowlers to lengthen the batting ffs it bloody obvious isn't it. They are getting what they deserve at the moment

Ya selecting raz dawg. 2 striking at 16 is abysmal. He needs chopping now, give Jono Campbell a run out.

Choosing to bat first here is just crazy. They've lost it completely.
Reminds me of Graeme Cremer when they made him captain. First 2 ODIs v India they win toss, bowl first, win games easily. 3rd ODI Cremer finally wins a toss and for some ridiculous reason he wants to bat first.
Back to basics please. Always bowl first
