No, in fact, their first class debut happened very close to each others'. Mackay debuted when he was 31 , and Lamb when he was 18, in 1998/99 season.

This is not the only similarity, as an answer to the question, they both had their first class debut playing for the "ZCU Presidents XI".

Mackay: 2-4 October 1998, ZCU President's XI v Indians, at Sunrise Sports Club,
Lamb: 26-29 January 1999, ZCU President's XI v England A, at Kwekwe

Haha! It has become second nature now, as soon as i see even a semi-special pic involving someone related to Zim Cricket, my mind starts running all sorts of algorithms to find out how I can relate the people in the pic, and what sense can be made out of it

Sometimes, even I learn something new in the process of exploring these, if I don't know much about the players already. The last one was one such example.
