Not European scene, but our man nonetheless. Solomon Mire's latest exploits in Australia, against a decent attack: 260 from 157 balls with 21 6s and 13 4s

Good to see Calum Price take 4 for 36 in his 10 overs in a match where the opposition made 315 off their 50 overs. He is now the leading wicket takers in West of England premier league glouctershire division. I believe he has been told by someone close to mountaineers to keep his current job overseas as the chances of franchise cricket this next season is not looking too rosy

whoa cock...are you suggesting that the domestic scene is about to collapse?

Wow, that's even more Cephas-esque!CrimsonAvenger wrote:Not European scene, but our man nonetheless. Solomon Mire's latest exploits in Australia, against a decent attack: 260 from 157 balls with 21 6s and 13 4s
And making the Victorian Premier Team of the season is no mean feat either.
Essendon, despite finishing sixteenth with just four wins, also provided a highlight with ex-Zimbabwean Solomon Mire scoring 752 runs @ 37.60. The exciting right-hander always scored his runs attractively and his efforts were rewarded with selection in the Premier Team of the Season.

People have been predicting the complete collapse of cricket in Zimbabwe for the last 10 years, it has always managed to keep going. I am no fan of ZC, but the claims of imminent collapse by the anti-ZC crowd do seem like the boy crying wolf.

There seems to be a lot of rubblings of how bad a state ZC financial affairs are. Alot of players from the franchise cricket are still due their March salaries. I know ZC are banking on the India series bring in cash but the other two series will cost them money. You can not expect players, no matter how dedicated they are to their sport, to play for peanuts. I am the last person who wants to see the franchise system collapse, as I still live here it is one of the few things I can still watch, but I am worried with all the talk from players and coaches about the situationeugene wrote:ZIMDOGGY wrote:whoa cock...are you suggesting that the domestic scene is about to collapse?

Cricket in Zimbabwe functions in the same way the rest of the country does: it gets by despite the government and not because of it.
Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).

Once a Zimbo, always a Zimbo! And those who are not Zimbos can be Zimbos at heart too. It can't happen the other way round...
