Clearly KP had spent some time with Stubbs, he was bigging him up and he then got clean bowled a couple of balls later thru the gate to a ball nipping in. I dont care who you are, you get that delivery and you're in trouble. I watched Smith's innings and he didn't get a ball that good. If its nipping from 4th/5th to middle at pace how do you keep it out
If it doesnt beat you thru the gate its hitting your pad.

Its been fascinating watching really good batsmen from both teams not coping and making mistakes when the pressure builds.
Also makes one realize how good Smith really is. He's different gravy.

Bowlers win matches. Starc, Cummins, Hazelwood, Rabada and Jansen were absolutely relentless.
We've long thought our seam attack is ok and the batting needs work, but when you watch this you realize that even Blessing can't do this. He's fantastic in bursts, but he's not 145 and he gets a few wrong and he's got nobody the other end that can match him. These teams have bowler after bowler after that sustain pressure.

There is a great story of I think in a junior rep game.
Starc is in his teens and very quick and the opposition side are all arguing about who will open.
Apparently a young Smith goes fuck it let me do it.

Will be a big hole when he retires

Bavuma and Bedingham hanging in and putting up some resistance. Theyve been lucky.

Webster bowls at 125.
Shite batting technique as well, but makes runs.

Rabada wore two horrible blows there, gets the same delivery and then pulls it off his face. Thats a big set.

Ngidi is honestly so shit. Can't believe this bloke is actually playing here. Is Coetzee still injured?

Shastri and KP are really getting into him here

Is this a good advert for the game or not?

If we’d been bowled out for 212, 138 or collapsed to 73/7 at Trent bridge guys would be saying we should never play test cricket again
